I met him at the candy store
He turned around and smiled at me
You get the picture? (yes, we see)
That's when I fell for (the leader of the pack)

*~*~* The Tale (a year before)*~*~*

Sakura was standing on the small bridge over one of the waterways out on the outskirts of the village, looking down into the water and looking herself over carefully. She was so pretty...even she sould see it. Why couldn't Sasuke?

Sasuke had come home recently, and everyone was glad for it. There were celebrations along with debriefing. Things had finally settled down and Sakura had ventured to Sasuke's home alone. Naruto had already been to see the surviving heir to the clan numerous times, and besides, matters of the heart were best left unexpressed when the blonde was present.

So Sakura had knocked on the door and waited patiently. Five minutes passed before the door slid open and Sasuke appeared in the doorway. He was older, his hair shaggier and held back in a low ponytail. Despite everything he did he still managed to look just like his brother Itachi. He was wearing a white long sleeved shirt with the Uchiha Emblem on the chest and black tightfitting pants.

He crossed his arms over his chest and looked down at her, raising a slender eyebrow in question. For once he wasn't looking at her with annoyance or condescention. It was honest curiousity.

She blushed and fidgeted under his gaze, stumbling over her words before gaining momentum.

"N-now that y-you're back in the village, Sasuke-kun, I was thinking maybe you and I could go for a walk or maybe to go eat something?!" God, even after 3 years she STILL got hysterical when talking to him!

Sasuke blinked, then looked out past Sakura at the village, before his eyes settled back on her.

"...I'm busy today. Maybe tomorrow." And the door shut, leaving Sakura on the door step with her jaw hanging low in shock and her spirits even lower in depression.

And so, with little else to do, she had gone on the walk herself and ended up here over the stream, sighing deeply. As she watched her reflection it was joined by that of Sasuke. Sakura gasped and jumped back, startled. The Uchiha just looked at her, his face a blank slate.

"Sasuke-kun! What are you doing here?" She asked. She was squealing like a fangirl on the inside but refused to let that part of her show anymore.

Sasuke looked out at the water, then looked at her, and smiled. S-M-I-L-E-D! At her! Sakura squealed. She couldn't help it!

"I went for a walk anyway, and I figured I'd run into you eventually." He said, nodding his head down the path before them before walking on down it. Sakura walked beside him, blushing and giggling at odd moments.
