Sorry to bother you again, but does the English AgK volume have this page: http://i3.[Blocked Domain]/akame-ga-kiru/30/akame-ga-kiru-3646487.jpg? Should be volume 6 or 7.

Okay. Maybe they just skipped it. By the way, did I understand correctly that the second fanbook will have the Jaegers on its cover?

So, is this fucker stronger than FFXIII-2 Lightning?

Or is she an exception to the rule of Valhalla due to needing to fight Caius or some shit?

Either way, defeating his ass kind of goes a long way in showcasing that Serah and Noel are probably exceptions to the rule Snow thinks is true *shrugs*

Hell, is he even a l'Cie? If not, his existence spits in the face of it
    7. ChaosTheory123
      ChaosTheory123
Even if it weren't strictly anything more than optional, I just point to why being optional falls to pieces in Final Fantasy when you've got games like FFVI where most of the second half is optional and the ending only makes any real sense if you do the optional content.
    8. ChaosTheory123
      ChaosTheory123
Figure this feat would go a long way towards arguing physical attacks aren't far removed in potency from magic in the first game? :hmm

Seems to imply they're not ineffectual compared to magic at any rate, especially with the fact she finishes it off with a generic sword blow.
    9. ChaosTheory123
      ChaosTheory123
They certainly still were wary of him as far as I can tell, so even at their peak strength they still seemed to see him as a threat at any rate :hmm
    10. ChaosTheory123
      ChaosTheory123
I'll keep that in mind when I get around to XIII-2 :hmm

That said, I forgot I could just work with Odin to note the l'Cie from the first game are probably not going to be much slower than Etro's Knight either way. XIII doesn't really seem to give off the typical illusion of growth in speed between tiers in that regard.

How would you figure he compares to the party by the end of the game? Anything contextually suggest it was a lopsided slaughter on their part?
    11. ChaosTheory123
      ChaosTheory123
How do both measure up to Serah and Noel?

Also, been rewatching the ending of FFXIII-1. Would it be correct to say that Barthandelus, while wanting to die, wasn't holding back? His words before the final showdown seem to imply he will kill them if they're not going to bend to his will. Also, would Orphan's first form be stronger than his final form? I mean, for all intents and purposes, the first Form was Barthandelus + Orphan + Some Other Fal'Cie I'm forgetting the name of. After Lightning/Hope/Snow/Sazh make Orphan eat... Ruinga? Orphan seems to lose that fusion entirely :hmm

Worth noting is that Orphan's first form will always start with Merciless Judgement (thus making it a scripted attack and making it a more solid metric to judge durability). As the name should imply too, it'd hardly be holding back.

Doesn't seem like the party is all that far behind an incomplete Ragnarok in power with all that in mind (though I still have fuck all idea how to Judge their striking power given how comically Snow's repelled by Barthandelus' human form barrier)
    12. ChaosTheory123
      ChaosTheory123
Being fair, Snow's knowledge could just be limited

Examples of characters that shouldn't be able to do something according to known lore in the plot are pretty commonly subverted by what actually happens in the game or even other bits of lore.

Scions and Yiazmat in XII are roughly peers of the Occuria (basically the Gods of Ivalice). Raithwall defeats Belias even without aid of Nethicite enhancing his power, 3 random Nu Mou contend with 3 beings on the level of stronger Scion like Chaos for days (again, no Nethicite), Montblanc's Master fights Yiazmat for weeks in a fairly even battle before dying due to exhaustion... Vaan proceeds to surpass Yiazmat to become arguably the strongest being in Ivalice. The last two examples are particularly notable given Yiazmat is arguably stronger than a given Occuria. Neither use Nethicite to do it. Nethicite is still treated like some super weapon despite it seemingly being optional for one to use it to become as powerful as a "God".

That's just the freshest example I have. Not saying Snow's necessarily incorrect, but exceptions to the rule are pretty common in Final Fantasy *shrugs*

Doesn't a clone of first game Lightning and Snow appear in the Coliseum or something though? Maybe work off that one?

Figure you could get me scans of shit from the FFXIII Ultimania? :hmm

Not knowing what's in there, I suppose I can start by asking for shit on Chaos, Ragnarok, and probably Etro if you can bother?

Hah, just thought of something that throws any doubt about tanking the death of Anima into question.

Serah was inside the vestige prior to the explosion. She was later found outside the vestige as if thrown by the explosion.

Anima didn't transport her crystal into the realm of pulse, ergo she tanked the explosion.

Now to just determine what magnitude of city level the explosion was (kind of unsure if I should or can include the transmutation of water into crystal into energy figures)

Ragnarok is required to kill Orphan. The crew killing him without Ragnarok was one of the miracles that they performed.

So, in a sense, you could say the 6 of them combined = 1 incomplete ragnarok?

That's how I'd interpret it anyway, and fits with feats like being able to kill Orphan's Shell with a couple spells and such.

      2. The problem with that is, they have to go find another Pulse fal'Cie and have it get angry at Cocoon and brand some people with the focus of destroying it.

      That makes sense, I gotcha.

Orphan wanted to die I'm not sure about the rest of the Cocoon fal'Cie.

Fair enough, figured I'd ask for sake of argument if it was a feasible stance to take is all. Might be hard to defend, and wholly unneeded I guess with the above speculation of mine, but I suppose I just like puzzles and fitting as many pieces into a picture as I can.

After busting Orphan's barrier, Fangnarok was about to kill Orphan until Etro stepped in and reversed the transformation. Orphan didn't know what truly happen so he called her "flawed"

      Alright, that makes sense then.

With that said, from this last line of questioning, I think I can retool stats on the profiles to reflect what they should be with some more accuracy now. Feel free to correct what you think I have wrong dude, you made most of the profiles and all.

The impression I'm getting from the data logs of the game is that destroying Orphan itself required Ragnarok in the first place. Sure, know cocoon l'Cie and fal'Cie couldn't harm it themselves due to being literally incapable of turning their powers against it, but why the insistence and emphasis on ragnarok? If they only needed an outside source to kill Orphan, you'd figure any old group of pulse l'Cie would suffice, right?

      2. The problem with that is, they have to go find another Pulse fal'Cie and have it get angry at Cocoon and brand some people with the focus of destroying it.

Another thing of interest is the fact summoning the maker required the deaths of millions of cocoon civilians. Were the fal'Cie planning for the maker to return to the world without anyone around to greet it? Did they expect to perish with Cocoon's impact? Or were they expecting they'd survive such an event to greet their maker? If so, that's fairly suggestive of the mastermind's of the plan's durability as well (Barthandelus).

Orphan wanted to die I'm not sure about the rest of the Cocoon fal'Cie.

Also, did Incomplete Ragnarok and Orphan's Shell actually fight? Or did Fang just lose steam after cracking through the barrier?

If the former, I suppose the fact Orphan's Shell is basically unharmed suggests enough about its durability. If the latter, seems kind of odd I guess, unless she just gave out due to lack of drive or some shit.

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just trying to finally puzzle out everything I can about the game I guess :maybe

I gotcha, makes sense regarding Odin then.

If they only needed an outside source to kill Orphan, you'd figure any old group of pulse l'Cie would suffice, right?

Which leaves the impression Orphan's at least durable enough to require something as overkill as Ragnarok to die, anything lesser wouldn't cut it. That being said, the l'Cie were clearly shown capable of killing Orphan's shell during the final cutscene ontop of killing Barthandelus.

Assuming of course Barthandelus never intended to die and only for Orphan to fall anyway.

Either way... is any of this speculation making sense? Or am I completely missing the target here dude? You know the lore and series better than I do.
