Yoo, can you remember my problem with mites that i mentioned ages ago?

Sadly, they seemingly have spread to pretty much all my animal enclosures (even my snakes =/ ). I have yet to see any of them actually latch on to any of my animals (be it insects or my snake), but they are also starting to roam my flat. Do you know of a way to combat these pesky little motherfuckers?

The book was a whole lot more clear on that point (which makes sense since it was a Robert Heinlein book), the movie took alot of creative liberties with the source material to make it into an action movie so the original point is harder to grasp for casual viewers.

I read the book after seeing the movie but I was left with the impression that it was a lot more serious and genuine about how a military society can be a good and prosperous thing?
Then again so was the movie, I mean fascist tendencies aside life in the SST movie universe seems a lot more liberal than today. Voting was limited to those that serve but it seemed like most people had freedom and peace to enjoy.

That sucks man, entomology is awesome and deserves more research/development funding lol.

I did physics and worked various jobs in tech for a few years. In the process of becoming unemployed atm, planning on doing a computer science PhD.

But I read a lot as a hobby lol, biology is one of my favourite subjects. E.O. Wilson is one of my favourite scientists, he's awesome.

It was the opposite for me. I didn’t like memorizing stuff but biology can be much more interesting than I thought back then.

Oh, it was my own decision. I currently work in medical-imaging and am basically fulfilling the last bits of my contract.

He apparently wrote an encyclopaedic work on ants, I never got round to reading it, I mostly read his general science books.

I have a huge problem with memorization. Being an entomologist is essentially a game of memory, there are nearly 1,5 million species discovered!

Got any plans for the future?

I prefer popular science books! If I want to know the pure facts I turn to books that cover that. I'm a huge fan of Parasite Rex by Carl Zimmer, it's an amazing book for those interested in parasitology and entomology!

Have you tried Anki? Look up the concept of spaced-repetition if you haven’t man – it’s basically a complete game-changer in terms of memorizing

Well I’m actually really interested in combining my two main interests atm, CS and genetics so research in applying AI to genomics

Yeah Carl Zimmer is another favourite author. I like beginning with pop-sci but have a compulsive need to understand details ;p
