I am not a member, but I support them because I believe that private ownership of firearms is what won the American independence from the British empire and keeps the people free from tyranny, today.

I would like to specify that I am in favor of responsible ownership of firearms; when not in use, the owner should always keep them locked away and should use them only when they are calm and rational, never when angry or intoxicated.

Define when human can ever be anger or trigger happy. . In australia we gave up our guns we are living real happy so far no gun related crimes.

I think that it is fairly easy to define when a person is angry simply, by observing their body language.

I have long believed that firearm-related violence has increased in frequency in recent years due to the internet and social media, because the shooters are treated with near celebrity status, so other people copy them, hoping for fame, however brief.

The first mass shooting in the United States was in 1949, long before social media existed, so that is a strong argument in favor of social media exacerbating the issue.

Bro people who made this law in 1800s only feared america does not turn out like british empire.

We had it untill 1996 gun massacre where all of us aussies realised gun was not worth it so we took our stockpile and burned it.

The only problem i see is gun crime has tripled up in US partly due to internet and pop culture. Its too late now you guys should have fixed the laws back in 80s or 90s.

What would you have recommended that we do about it?

Adding to that you really cannot deny hollywood culture having effect on people.

Youngsters these days suffer lot of mental issues compared to our old generation. I feel like any change in gun laws is now taken prestige issue or political agenda i no longer see common ground in US.

You guys need to figure that out. Like i said we burned our stockpiles , we realised and woke up that our future generation will never do this acts.

Its upto people in US who need to wake up .

I am very much in favor of all citizens being instructed from young ages on how to safely and properly handle and store firearms, and also in favor of a background check and psychological evaluation on anyone who wishes to purchase a firearm.
