I would imagine he actually tried to hit someone but the recoil forced it into the ceiling. Those assault rifles have kick.

Where the Hell do 13 year olds get AK's anyway? I mean it's common in Gaza but freakin America?

Damn, that's really close to where I live. First Jonesboro and now this? Arkansas is going to war with preteens! Kill them all!

Well, that's just crazy. I really can't imagine reason enough for a 13 year old to do that.
Also, how the heck does a kid get access to such weaponry?:huh

this is one weird story, specifically because of the weapon, he must have come from some middle eastern country.

I'm wondering what caused the kid to want to do this in the first place.
Nothing ever constitutes bringing a weapon to school. Thankfully the kid had some sense and didn't go on a spree.

Violent games are not banned they just have an age restriction to be purchased. The kid could have gotten the gun from a relatives home or found it in his father's closet. There is no way he purchased this illegal gun from a gun shop and considering he is so young, unless his parents give him a huge allowance, there is no way he could purchase the gun illegally off the street.

So to sum it up, he got the gun (which is illegal here in the United states) most likely from a relative or his father.

I hope this keeps happening more often and many dies, so a ruckus starts. :wtf
I don't suggest blocking bullets with a baseball bat.
    :oh
Doesn't matter where one lives, or the culture, everyone deserves to die.
Those that blame other cultures because they just can't accept the fault of their own, are just idiots.
    All I can say is..
    MORE MORE MORE! :yell
PS: You obviously don't know, you can obtain any weapon, in any nation, to any price. You just need to know where..
The problem is, how could the kid know? Not how he obtained the weapon.

Is it just me or is becoming more of a common event? It seems like every other week this is happening. If I ever have kids they are never going to a public school.

    Hurray for putrid accuracy!

I like to disagree. Lets look back in time when guns werent so heavily regulated. Things didnt look as fucked up then than now. Besides, just cause guns are legal doesnt mean that people are going to attack schools still. If they want to kill a bunch of people at school they'll just bring anything else with them like a knife or if they have connections they can get a gun that way.

Funny, the kid decided to bring an assault rifle though. :p

That's a shame. I mean, I just don't get how anyone can defend pro-firearm legislation when stuff like this happens.

The 2nd amendment was put in place for the purposes of militia, not just so private citizens could perpetrate violence agaisnt others.

That's....man, well at least nothing happened really. Get this kid some counseling.

Well that's because guns are very hard things for people to get their hands on in Japan.

It's not like you can find them at your local drug store like you can in America with resealable packages to keep them fresh.

Anti-gun control legislation would of done little here as I believe AK-47's are banned. I don't think the U.S. allows high powered assault rifles like that to be legally owned.

The Second Amendment is still valid. Everything's hunky dory while democracy is working well and books aren?t burning in the streets, but if an Orwellian nightmare comes to pass, I'd feel more comfortable knowing that some people have shotguns in the storage closet.

I do believe it should be much harder to obtain guns. Right now things are ridiculous. But I think those against citizen firearms altogether aren't looking at the whole picture: a republic's army can't always be trusted. South America is a great example.

You can buy an AK 47 if you want one. And people can own assault rifles too. Semi-auto rifles are fully legal as of sometime 2004. (It got big press up here, since there are always shitloads of smuggled guns coming from the US and, here, assault rifles are all banned except for extreme cases.) You would have to look a bit harder for legal fully automatic assault rifles, but there are legal ones.

I imagine, in the case of the AK 47, American manufacturers got the government to ban imports in the '60. So I even doubt the good intentions of such grandfather laws.

Why some people think they are safer with assault rifles available to the public, I'll never know...
