I know that if they were important enough the translators would've brought it to our attention, but I'm still interested. So, what's written on the various buildings in page 16?

    ...

But seriously, I'd like to know too. I'm wondering where the hell he is, as well.

    Is he:

    A) So cocky that he's in a major village, out in the open, because he can?
    B) Not in a ninja village at all?
or C) A respected ninja in another village?

Didn't you hear? He created that statue himself! I'm sure he created that whole village too.. and the world!

(Seriously, I don't believe that crap... but others do)

Please leave. Logic has no place in NF.

People think AL summoned the statue so that he could sit on it and use telepathy. I also think he did a kuchioyse for the entire village. He has a blood contract with lifeless statues and villages.

I suspect that this is the equivalent of the Hokage Monument for one of the other villages. The Sand has a room with statues of the Kazekages, so I guess every village has some sort of monument.

    I wanted to make this topic, so, I give it a bump;

and its definietly a ninja village, cuz there're kunais in there.. but I doubt it's a major village, or at least not a known one; it could be kumogakure, but that doesnt make sense..
I think its either Hidans village or an abandoned one..

Personally I find it being a ninja village... unlikely to say the least.

If that was so this ninja village has stolen the best ninja from the other villages... and declared war on Konoha, Sand, Hidden Cloud and Two other villages.

I say Akatsuki is a totally independant organisation and this is just some base the AL has. With Magic creating and hiding his own town shouldn't be impossible.

    The big letter is "nu".
Further away are the kanji for shinobi and book.

There's always random graffiti like that in the backgrounds in Naruto. XP
Though I really wonder what that place is... Looks like a super mutated konoha. XD

Unless Kishimoto is feeling particularly misleading this week then I'd say this is a good sign for the Leader being in a shinobi village.

Why does it have to be his base? When have Akatsuki ever had trouble going where they want?

I think it's a shinobi village because there's a kanji at the bottom which says "nin". If you agree with this, let's have a few reasonable guesses on which hidden village it is.

    1) As Wrath said, each hidden village probably has some sort of statues or monuments, to commemorate the respected ninjas who once lived in the village. Then the statue itself can probably give us some clues. Remember what all Rain nins in the Chuunin Exam shared in common?

    Spoiler:

    Yes, Pipes! :p

So, AL is currently in Hidden Rain? No, wait. There is a huge flaw with this. Hidden Rain is surrounded by lands.

    Spoiler:

    See the *Ame

I can't imagine how Deidara and Tobi could drag Sanbi all the way from Water Country to Hidden Rain. Plus, since Hidden Rain is nowhere near the ocean there can't be seagulls in there (correct me if they aren't seagulls because I'm no expert in ornithology XP)

    2) AL is in Hidden Cloud. Thorn brought up a good point. Hidden Cloud was built on the mountain top so it may have a limited space and people there have to build skyscrapers instead of low buildings.

Lightning Country is separated from Water Country by nothing but ocean. Deidara could drag Sanbi all the way through without encountering much obstacles. The only problems are the two countries are like thousands of miles apart o_O and how was Deidara going to carry such a huge turtle up the mountain (well he would come up with some way. Oh come on, he is an Akatsuki after all! :p)

And, Lightning Country is a peninsula. It explains why there are many seagulls around. (Again, correct me if they aren't seagulls)

    3) AL is in Hidden Mist. But I don't see any mist around. :oh

What if it's not a ninja village at all? I mean, there must be thousands of cities and towns in Narutoverse that are inhabited by civilians. If the Akatsuki walked into a Hidden Village, they'd have to deal with every ninja in the village trying to kill them. Why bother with that when they can just go to some random town where no one even knows who they are?

That's not a terrible idea. Some grandiose version of Hole-in-the-Wall, Wyoming. An outlaw village.
