If you haven't figured it out yet...
Akatsuki= red moon
Oh so that's why they have those red marks on their suits. Good job destruction bug.
thanks, oh and kotetsu (basically koutetsu) means steel
In the original Japanese manga, Akatsuki is represented by one kanji, 暁, which means "Dawn", not red moon.
well as long as there is proof i can understand and i dont know japanese to ehh....
also i think some people already know this but blah
Dawn? i dunno about it but just show the site or picture to translate cuz i dont know for sure. Its known to be Red Moon.
whatever it is, they sure pick cool name. wonder who the leader is.....
For a while, I thought you knew my real name.
I don't know how "Red Moon" came about, though Aka= bloody red, Tsuki= Moon. But "Akatsuki" implies daybeak. It's a lesser used word, but it still carries the meaning of "Dawn". And like someone said, it is represented in one single kanji.
God. I freaking hate my name.
Red moon is a good name
Why am I filled with such a perverse desire to compare how soft your skull is to concrete?
Oh well. Back on topic. It's "Dawn", or "Daybreak", whatever way you'd like to refer to it as.
Did it ever occur to anyone that it might be meant to be used for both? A Red Moon leading to a Dawn of a new age? o_o
Wonderful imagination you've got there, sh33p. But if only it were true. The kanji still stands...
fyi, i translate japanese words (in letter symbols), not kanji, also i agree with sh33p, either that or a red moon=sun, even though that word is san and/or something i cant remember right now
Lets just say its "Dawn". i like Red Moon tho, cuz its something that would happen in the apocalypse.
i think thats a cool idea, "A Red Moon leading to a Dawn of a new age?"
ill accept that more than the rest of the ideas. you guys never know.. Kishimoto doesnt show everything at just one moment. he slowly reveals thing that is needed to be unknown.
it does, indeed, mean dawn. which I, personaly think is a much better name for my 'orginization' than 'red moon'. dawn is so poetic that with the right feeling behind it, it could mean almost anything.
Red Dawn eh? And here i was thinking it just meant red moon. Even so how does this all relate to the red clouds they have on their robes? Although I doubt Red Cloud has the same impact as Red Dawn...
Ya, it means dawn but that red sun does make sense. Seeing as how the sun is usually reddish when it comes up
good god...i shoudve figured this out a long time coz tsukiyomi means god of the moon...well good job anyway...
Dawn, guys. Listen to the people who are saying that it just means Dawn. Red Moon is either a coincidence or a play on words. And Dawn definitely fits perfectly if you've paid any attention to what their goal is.
Akatsuki (Dawn) : 暁
Akatsuki (akai tsuki) (Red Moon) : 赤月 （赤い月）
akatsuki means dawn or day break not red moon.
Tsukuyomi has nothing to do with akatsuki's meaning. Together with Amaterasu, they are based on Japanese mythology.
Oh really, I never really thought about the meaning of Akatsuki.
yomi=high entity or something like that
tsuki+yomi=god of moon
the tsuki in akaTSUKI is what im reffering...
if its "moon", then why there are red clouds on their suits? it should be red moons instead of clouds.
so "dawn" would be more suitable. right?
Me too. But it has cool meaning.
the japs have cool names jah..like Naruto Sasuke, even Kakashi XDD
well if you think about it nothing is really suitable because there is no red clouds during dawn...silly...the red clouds are just design....
