Is it just me or all the plant based animation was just odd, I mean if you look at it in a freudain point of view it was actually kinda of deep. Not to mention the idea of robbing Yakumo of her abilities can be seen as stealing another persons purpose and meaning (it could also be seen as robbing of her vitality and amongst other things. The ninjas whose genjutsu had him pop out of a pea pod also reminded me of a an example of fertility that was in a textbook for one of classes in metaphors. By the way the version of Freud I am referencing is the modern one, Although I dont agree with it it reminds me of some classes of the classes and the textbook examples of symbolism in them.
Or was it me just trying to find purpose in a filler ep.?

There is no purpose in a filler ep, other than making us suffer needlessly.
It could be counted as deep, but then again i doubt studio pierrot would add in deep psychological significance while also having a dog peeing in someone's mouth.
If you want something with freudian overtones in naruto,
    Spoiler:
Sai seems to be a prime target with all of his 'manhood talk'

    but that's in part 2.

When it comes to Freud, you can say that about everything and anything.

Most of the time, it isn't as deep as you think it is... it just is that way, cause it is.

LOL well even if they did not do it on purpose, those are interesting observations. ^^ I kinda see it too now XD;;.... if anything that one vagania-esque flower combined with all the peapods and tentacle vines....humm....it was somewhat suggestive, maybe not Freudian, but then again he was so crazy it just may be :nuts
