    FAQ

Hey, Why wasn't "X series" chosen?

There could be multiple reasons. Overall Popularity, thread activity, and Genre all play a role in our selections. However, a series can be very popular overall and still not get a nod for that month. Occasionally, even very popular titles can benefit from better timing which might play a role and benefit from being held-off until a better opportunity came along such as a second series, OVA or movie that will help spark more activity.

What happens to the titles that aren't chose for this month?

They are returned to the pool of possible candidates for the following months. That doesn't ensure that they'll be chosen as one of the 3 for the following month but they will always remain eligible.

Any other Questions? Feel free to ask in this thread. Remember, you people only have 7 days to vote, so spread the word :wink

NOOO!!!! This month was way too fast!

Anyway, I'm voting CLANNAD but I doubt I'll be using this subforum after this month as Gurren Lagann and Higurashi are cream of the crop animes and I doubt they can be surpassed.

Infact, I've lost interested in most other animes I watch because those are leagues above the rest in my opinion.

I'm watching close to 50 series at the moment, and haven't seen many that has broken through the pack, which made this month quite difficult in terms of nominations.

I'm not even sure what to vote for. I haven't seen any of those series.

I guess Clannad as Bamboo Blade doesn't sound interesting and the other one sounds too much like Lucky Star.

Wow. The only one out of those 3 I'm watching is Clannad. The other 2, I have no interest in. Obvious where my vote goes. And last month was pretty much all anime I was watching and liking, which made me think before finally deciding that Higurashi or Dragonaut were the obvious wins and I liked Higurashi more. This month... not so much.

Yeah. I agree with the choices though.

CLANNAD being Key's latest anime and Genshiken seems to have a lot of fans. I don't know anything about Bamboo Blade though.

Part of the reasoning for these selections were due to trying to provide a bit of variety. Don't worry because you'll see some of the more familiar titles next month....unless something new comes out that totally blows everything else away xDD

I vote for Bamboo Blade, because it'll get more popular that way since it's a really good show.

Clannad isn't that interesting now, I hope it could be selected on February though.

I might take a look at Genshiken, but I don't have time to watch trough a whole season for the moment.

Clannad. I was extremely impressed with the way they plotted it out, even after just watching Kanon and Air.

i voted for Genshiken. its nothing great, but its fairly entertaining. esp 5 was really awesome. personaly i think myself yourself is ten times better than Clannad.

i'd like to nominate Kodomo no Jikan. its a daring, in subject matter, anime that has some seriously funny issues in it. even the ova was funny.

I've never watched Genshiken, and Clannad as of now, just seems too repetitive. Especially after watching Kanon and Air.

    Genshiken is Genshiken.

Bamboo Blade is fun, but most of its characters are derivative and the plot isn't going anywhere fast. The driving force is Kawazoe Tamaki, who -- admittedly awesome -- isn't enough.

As for Clannad... how many times is Key going to remake Kanon? The harem of bishoujo with mysterious pasts, the witty but considerate male protagonist, the comatose, shy girl with an astral projection... have I watched this before? Still, Clannad seems to be the pinnacle of the Key triad. The voice acting is unthinkably brilliant, and there are no "dud" characters as in Air.

    WINNER: CLANNAD

If it wasn't for the fact that Clannad can actually move me I wouldn't be voting for it. Unfortunately that's not the case here. It's able to move me, sure some girls have the same sort of problems like in Air and Kanon. That's the only problem, but the character with those problems are entertaining to say the least.

Air was one of the only anime that could make me shed manly tears of sadness. Clannad was close in episode 8 because I care so much for the characters now. Most, if not all, the characters have their unique personalities. Without that, this might as well be called Air 2:When We Were Young, or Kanon 2007. This anime has the potential to become something great, and it's living up to my expectations.

Yes, this anime doesn't hold a candle to the past two winners in many ways. But animes like Clannad are very rare, even with some rehashed material with just different characters. This anime makes me care about the characters, and hoping that no one dies because of an unfortunate event. Not because they went into battle and believed they were doing the right thing to sacrifice themselves.

The other two...Bamboo Blade? Doesn't really appeal to me. Genshiken? Welcome To The NHK sorta feeling...

My vote will go to Clannad this month. Definitely something that shouldn't be missed by someone that wants drama, and will want to shed a tear once in a while.
