Well those are the recommendations, you can come and post yours too, it will save us from writing the same animes all over again :cool

NOTE: Many of the animes mentioned belong to other categories, but i put them in the one they represent the most

If you are thinking of putting your recommendations, plz try to stick to the categories listed above or if you see that I missed one, you are welcome to add it

Check Texhnolyze or Japanese-English Dictionary for info about the series (just search for the names of course)

    Links for dl:
Link removed (Awsome, very complete, you need to register)
Monster (Very useful, has subs in many languages, gives torrents and e2dk, you have to register)
Texhnolyze (Only e2dk, a lot of info about many series also, you ALSO have to register)
Link removed (Great site, nicely updated everyday and with many series)
manga page (Nice torrent site, doesn't have many groups but it has a lot of DVD quality releases and reviews of some series)

For people that like some drama mixed with action, I reccomend
Kino no tabi which translates to "Kino's travels" or "Kino's journey.

This is a short-story type anime, where each story or scenario concludes in 1 ~ 2 episodes. (short and crisp ^^)

It tells of the people and countries that Kino and Kino's companian: a talking motorcycle, (a bit of out-there-ness) Hermes encounter. Full of drama and some intense gun-fights. It also provokes much thought to what it means to be what we are. for example, is it right to kill another animal so that you can help another human being? are the human beings deserving to be saved? are the animals desevering to be killed?

It also is a what-if type of anime, with the different countries Kino enters, a country where the people do not have to work, a country ruled by majority, and a country where people are telepathic just to name a few.

Hope you guys check it out and like it as much as I did!~

    Cheers!~

Wow, good list. I'd like to add Read or Die (aka R.O.D), um I'm not quite sure where it goes...action? drama? I dunno some of the characters can "use paper" to fight {sounds lame but it isn't}...um I'll let you decide. ^_^

No... it isn't lame death note rules and they also use paper to fight... he he, well, if it has many fighting then it should go on action, if you could let me know that... and well if they use paper seems to be supernatural action... i'm going to put it in the first category for now

    Action/ Superpower
-I personally haven't seen the anime but I love the manga, Flame of Recca I would highly recommend if you love Naruto. If you're looking for a lot of comedy and something episodic there's always the classic Slayers and the newer bishonen fest, Saiyuki, I'm not a huge fan of either but some of you might like. And if you want a series that will probably take the rest of your life to collect, One Piece. Another classics include 3X3 Eyes and Rurouni Kenshin.

Drama (Yeah, I love dramatic stories)... some of the are romantic ones
-one I highly recommend that's a shouji is Revolutionary Girl Utena
. There's also Planetes, if you like gorgeous girl love there's Maria-sama ga Miteru. If you like something that's dark and elaborate there's Texhnolyze. Now and Then Here and There is an overlooked post apocalyptic ball of angst

Mecha (action in with missiles big-ass guns and of course, robots)
-Rahxephon I'm amazed this wasn't mentioned! A gorgeous mecha series brought to you by Studio Bones who also did the Bebop movie, Escaflowne movie, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Wolf's Rain. Speaking of Escaflowne, Vision of Escaflowne if a bit of everything

    Comedy (this ones w00tean)
    -Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi
    -Excel Saga
    -Great Teacher Onizuka

There's also some movies such as Castle in the Sky, Cat Returns, Nausicaa, and Porco Rosso, all Miyazaki films. Tokyo Godfathers and Millenium Actress by the man who brought you Perfect Blue and Paranoia Agent. Akira the classic, Dead Leaves the insane head trip by the makers of Blood the Last Vampire. I think I covered all the good stuff, I have a list of DVDs I own and most of them are the must haves

Just so you know Nausicaa, Porco Rosso, and Cat Returns were all in the Top 50 Video sales chart the week they came out. I believe that considering at Suncoast we couldn't keep them in stock :smile-big Nausicaa debuted at #14, Cat Returns #27 and Porco Rosso #49. Plus apparently Howl's Moving Castle comes out sometime this summer, it'd be awesome if they did another triple release! The sales should more than encourage them to bust out with more Miyazaki releases
