Ashs Heracross easily. He already beat a magmar on Gary's team which we can assume already went through the first trip of the league with him since Gary only used Kanto mons with the exception of Scizor. Plus Heracross has his own strength feats that can't be compared to by Blaine
Blaine's Magmar won a grapple with Charizard and had a method of making itself immune to electricity.
That was a pre training Zard and he barely won that grapple, Heracross should megahorn him into the ground
They were equal in strength and Magmar outskilled Charizard entirely. Charizard ended up winning due to its flight advantage.
Magmar had the homefield advantage before Charizard started flying, didnt he shoulder throw magmar too or was that the other way around
Blaine's Magmar shit diffs.
Nope. Charizard did dive bomb Magmar, but instead of dealing damage they just ended up grappling. Charizard only ended up with the upperhand when Magmar dragged it down into the lava which it was able to resist and then it flew up with Magmar already on it and landed the Seismic Toss.
Heracross still has that feat where he lifted that rocket robot. And that same Charizard AFTER training tied with a chikorita(an injured one).
Hera isn't losing this fight. And I'm not even using the Sinnoh league one
Charizard went to train after Chikorita was caught.
I'm just listing Magmar's feats. We also know that it lost to that one dude's Marowak.
I'm saying that's the same Charizard who fought magmar. Ash was fighting stronger mons in the Johto league
I knew about the seismic toss, i guess id have to rewatch the fight again
I'd favor heracross. Especially considering his sinnoh league feats.
Dont forget Heracross stalemated Darkrai for a bit.
Charizard didn't become legendary status until either after it's training in Johto or during the Battle Frontier, where it was around... high tier gym leader status, ala Blaine, Claire, Faulkner (not really a "high" level gym leader, but last I checked it was his Pidgeot's speed that was the problem, not the power advantage).
Meaning Magmar stalemated a Charizard that wasn't at its prime, and Heracross is capable of putting out feats that compare to current Charizards better ones (such as when it fought Darkrai one on one and wasn't completely annihilated, or leapt through a Magmar's Fire Blast in order to completely absorb the blow and knock it out afterwards), so Heracross does the exact same as it did with Gary's Magmar- tanks the attack it sends out at him, and wayleighs him through the wall of the stadium arena.
The one with the bigger jobber aura.
Magmar gets yeeted
Heracross has better feats.
Its pitiful to scale Blaine's Magmar to current Charizard.
