Pierrot is pretty consistent in giving us anime adaptations with pretty good production values and staff for long-running series. They also have the best fucking director working with them. Noriyuki Abe.

A man who is consistently able to make adaptations far superior than the source manga.

He's worked on a some big name Jump series, like; Yu Yu Hakusho, Ninku, Midori no Makibao, and Bleach.

He's also done some popular non-Jump series like Great Teacher Onizuka, Flame of Recca, Tokyo Mew Mew,

Also, as shown clearly by a few of the above examples (not pointing them out as to avoid needless arguing), he has a very great way of taking pretty mediocre of generic series and making them feel really magical and powerful.

The only thing announced for him in 2017 is the Black Butler movie that's already completed and just needs to be released so here's hoping he wants to do this because I think he's BC's only chance at having a watchable anime adaptation.

Also, Filler in Black Clover is a great idea and I'm actually hoping we see a fair amount of it.

The world of Black Clover has a lot of potential despite how flawed the series as a whole is. It's a whimsical fantasy world, yet has this underlying sense of grime and reality to it. It could be really neat stuff if it was fleshed out properly or at all.

The problem is Tabata can't write for shit, and has no idea how to properly execute and build this world he has.

A decent anime team however, creating stories in this world might create some stories much more memorable than anything in the manga, and might actually make the characters bearable and interesting.

Tbh, I don't know if Pierrot is the best choice for this, I mean they sure have made a lot of shounen anime in the past but at least when it comes to animation, they can be lacking. For example in Twin Star Exorcists, the animation is most of the time average at best.

Sousei no Omyouji was pretty awful pretty much all the way through with a few moments of decency and I feel that even without the filler no studio could have really saved it (it DID NOT deserve 50 episodes). They sure did make the OPs look nice though :hmm

Pierrot was a lot stronger of a studio in the past, or at least it felt that way to me, but I'm always hoping for more good anime so I hope they get their shit together.

I haven't heard particularly good things about Black Clover, but I'm open to giving it a shot. It looks like Spring 2017 will be huge for the mainstream shounen battle genre between this, BnHA S2, Boruto, and whatever else.

Sousei no Omyouji was also mostly outsourced.
If Pierrot puts a good team behind this, then there shouldn't be all that much to worry about. At least not initially.

Black Clover will start in October in TV-Tokyo

One of its producer is Komatsu Naomi (小松尚実). She has been animation producer of Twin star Exorcist and production manager of Kingdom S2.

In October four Pierrot shows will be running (that are known). Konbini Kareshi will be over by then.
Osomatsu-san, Boruto (continue), Black Clover and Puzzle Dragon X(continue).
Don't watch Puzzle Dragon. Looking forward to rest.

Well tbh its an average generic shonen series that has nothing above something like, Toriko, One piece, HxH, Boku no hero or Promised Neverland.
You can read if you are interested but don't expect a special series, especially with Mages (cough Fairy Tail cough).

I hope Studio Pierrot will do a better job at the first episode than the OVA because I really didn't like that one.

Sorry if you've already said this before, but do you have any info on whether this series is gonna be seasonal or long running?

@Uraharа I'm not sure, having said that i don't Tatsuya Yoshihara wouldn't take the job if it was a long running one

Yes it was generic, but that doesn't take away that it was a good first episode. At first I thought they were gonna skip their backstory, but I'm happy the action and the backstory got postponed to next week.

It looks like they are taking the MHA route since the pacing is only 2 chapters per episode from the looks from it(First chapter has the length of 2.5 chapters). I'm glad this isn't gonna be a rushed adaptation like the majority of the anime are nowadays

Not feeling this series so far. Aside from the good animation it was a meh first episode. Going to give it a chance still since it might be one off those series that starts off kinda boring but then gets good as it goes on.

Asta's voice acting when he screams and shouts is weird and annoying af, and I'm used my protas being loud and energetic, so that's saying something. Thankfully his voice is ok every other time.
Other than the animation Pierrot's been a disappointment so far with this first episode, I hope we can move quickly to the magic knights.

It's doing the same thing as MHA, first chap split over two episodes.

Anime-onlys at reddit are a bunch of parrots.

even so, at least people knew and had good confidence in people liking the 2nd ep at least even if the first ep didn't grab. I can't say the same for BC. Especially since many follow the 3 ep rule.

Apparently the seiyuu is a total newbie. Maybe they're just trying too hard for their first big role, but damn the results are irritating. People don't want grating voicing for the main character of all people.

I hated that in BnHA and I'm not a fan of it here either. I know chapter 1s tend to be extra long, but BnHA's pacing in S1 bothered me a lot. Yeah, S2 wasn't much faster or perhaps it was the same, but the key difference is that S1 was slow paced despite being 1 cour.
