    Interesting looking trailer.

It's funny how it's stylized explicitly after "Man of Steel".

It's more realistic that Superman would go evil than good anyway

    Because power corrupts?

I'm not sure if I'd say it's more realistic that he'd be evil but it's certainly more probable.

Credit has always been given to how he was raised though. Having two morally pure parents helped him transition into basically Jesus. Usually when he goes evil it's because he forgot where he came from.

Part of me thinks it would've been scarier if he was an adult.

But that final jump scare in the trailer only really works if it's a kid, so....

If there's one thing horror movies have taught me it is that kids can be scary. Kids decision making is also not as inhibited as an adult due to the brains frontal cortex still being developed partner that with super powers and you have a scary little kid.

Not disputing that. It's just a little bit of a personal preference...

Maybe he'll survive the first movie and a sequel hook will be him terrorizing the world as an adult.

    Horror parody of Superman.
His parents looked like good people.
It seems he was evil for heck of it.
Or he was drove insane when his powers manifested. This topic was raised in Superman too when he couldn't control his super senses(like constantly hearing people, X ray vision going haywire etc). Only in Superman that found solution to it.
Maybe here this kid didn't find one which turned him insane.

Yawn another troubled kid with superpowers goes crazy

...so basically Chronicle but more of a horror genre.

I always wished a film would be made with a young adult (with superpowers but kept secret) and he becomes an intelligent villain throughout the film based on his own choices and realistic experiences. You can't do this with children or teens. It downplays the responsibility they have to bear cause children are more easily influenced by others and are immature.

This movie is just gonna end with the kid getting a bullet in the head (or a nuke).

Personally, I think it might be a Goku scenario.
Sent to earth to destroy and conquer as he grows up.
