This is pretty much a repost of what I posted at Mangahelpers. I'm also going to post this at Maximum7 as well, so that they know of this.

I don't know if this has been updated or whatnot, so please close if this thread is moot.

But considering translators are usually trying to be the most accurate and the Japanese to Spanish translations in Bleach aren't always easy, I just wanted to contribute something I found today.

I just picked up Bleach Wii and when I was looking at the moves list for the new Arrancar, Arturo, his super was called Selo. Now, it's no concidence the move is what we now know as Cero, so here's visual proof of what I found.

I scanned the manual with the finding.

    I hope that helps. ^^

Also, the move that Grimmjaw was going to do to Rukia in her face is called Arragarselo.

that's very strange. I had assumed it was in reference to the spanish word "cero" for "zero."

Um, well it's not really a magazine. If anything, blame Sega for spoiling many Bleach Wii players who haven't read the manga. XD

And yes, it's from Japanese people who don't have the greatest english, let alone Spanish. Until I see it from another official source, then Engrish Selo it is.

I'm assuming since he did make that new character, Arturo (not Altoro), for the game as well. As I hold the Bleach Wii manual that came out of the Bleach Wii case that I bought today, this is the bible for that name unless stated otherwise anywhere else. XD

Don't worry, Bala is still the same. =P

celo in spanish means making somebody jealous in the present first person tense (as in i make you jealous)

selo as far as i know doesn't mean anything in spanish

edit: just remembered that celo can also mean jealousy if you add an s (celos). anyways celo is the root word for jealousy

se lo can also mean something but that would be ridiculous since they are 2 words not 1

it probably doesn't have anything to do with either of those as the poster below said

I'm wondering since it was written in katakana (or at least I'd imagine), that Sega just took the direct translation and didn't bother really to use a loose translation and look around to see what else it could possibly mean.

I mean, since it really could be interpreted either way (just that 'cero' actually is a word).

That's probably the case. I mean in Japanese restaurants in Paris, Ramen is spelled "Lamen" over there, and technically it's not wrong.

It's probably used in hiragana as: セロ, which is literally "sero". If basing it off this fact, Sega most likely took the obvious translation, "selo", as ro is commonly used as lo (and they sound a bit alike). Kubo, who just loves to use English and Spanish words, most likely intended it to be "cero", as in the Spanish word for 'zero'. Sega likely didn't catch that, and in result is what we have here.

What kind of seal? The animal or the one that is used to keep things from opening?

    (I'm hoping the animal)

Agarrar is the verb. It's to hold, but agarrarselo specifies hold her something and since it's in male gender it can only mean one eye, the hair, the butt or the cunt

I seriously doubt Kubo wrote the game guide himself. Just because he developed a character for the game doesn't mean he was some kind of supervisor for the whole thing :\
