I like Janne Warman, because he can shred the keyboard like no one I've ever heard, but COB has never floated by boat. Check out Warmen to see Janne's virtuoso neoclassical keyboard owning.

I am up and down on them.

they have one of the greatest keyboardists I have ever heard, and some pretty wicked riffing at times..but...while I liked Follow the Reaper, it's really the only album I can say I listen to regularly, and mostly because Tagtgrens production made them sound immense.

Before I listened to this band, I thought keyboards were lame. :laugh

I love keyboards, but most of the Finnish bands tend to overstate them.

Norther can be a touch cheesy, no matter how I love them.

But yeah, Keyboards can be easily abused.

I agree, amazing keyboards and well done in metal songs. However, if you've heard one album you've heard them all. They are not innovating anymore on their new stuff. They aren't even doing interesting covers! I thought that their cover of Andrew W.K. was going to be good, because you could really do some funny stuff covering him...but they sounded exactly like him, not putting their own spin on it. They are ok to listen to one song at a time every once in awhile, but get boring after long listens.

I still spin Follow the Reaper in it's entirety, just not very often.

Alexeis guitars are not as good as made out to be, but Warmans keyboards.

His solo stuff is where he REALLY get's to cut loose.

Hatebreeder and Follow the Reaper are the only good CoB albums. HCRD and the new one suck ballz. Laiho is very good at sweep picking, but that's about it. I still like them though.

Laiho's sweeps aren't even that good. Muhammed of Necrophagist eats him alive.

I love Children of Bodom. I discovered them through Iron Maiden, then Nightwish, then COB (it's a perfect blend between the previous bands I think). I'm going to see them in concert in November. Man, it's going to be amazing.

I found CoB when I was looking for Iron Maiden. I dl/ed the Aces High cover and from then on I've been listening to them. Something Wild, Hatebreeder, Follow the Reaper, HateCrew DeathRoll.

I love'em all, except Are You Dead Yet?, which is their newest. The opening track is great, but the rest...eck!

That's actually the first song I ever heard from COB. I have the Powerslave album (Iron Maiden) which is my favorite so when I saw that title I just had to listen to it. It's so much better than the original :p

I disagree that it's better than the original. But, it is a pretty damn good cover IMO.

Aren't You Dead Yet? is a Carnal Forge album, not Children of Bodom.

What's your point? Bodom has an album titled "ARE you dead yet?"

It just came out. I listened to it. It really isn't that great. Google it for more info.

As for CoB's Aces High: Great, but nowhere near the original. The greatest thing about Aces High was Bruce's vocals...which obviously Alexi can't replicate, but who can blame him? Dickinson is the Air Raid Siren.:amuse

Yeah, they have a new albums and it really sucks balls....
And their cover of Aces High is good, but not even close to the original. By the way, that song seem to be a popular cover song, Arch Enemy also covered it.

Well, Iron Maiden influenced the majority of metal bands around nowadays...hell, even punk and hardcore acts are often Maiden fans.

It's hard not to like them or at least respect them if you're a metal fan.

They are my absolute favorite band. ever. I'm still pissed about Ozzfest...I went just to see Maiden and Sharon Osbourne and her posse had to ruin my night...

Without getting on too much of a soap box I'm gonna say: Sharon Osbourne is a biatch, and leave it at that. :p
