Remedy's finally embracing its weird again. They need a rebound after Quantum Break.

I'll be counting more on this one for my weird TPS mindfuck.

Gonna keep my eye out on this one.

That statement worries me. I was interested in trying Quantum Break. Is it actually a bad game?

Bit sad this wasn’t Quantum Break 2 as I really want a sequel to that, but this looks awesome. I’m down for telekinetic shenanigans.

Quantum Break focused too much on the plot and graphical spectacle. As a game, it was pretty lacking. Run, shoot, read a bunch of essays, watch a ton of cutscenes.

I thought it was fun, though. Interesting narrative, cool moments. I loved the game.

Watch some clips on YouTube before buying it, to be sure.

I mean theres also his time powers. you dont have to just shoot everything. especially if you're playing on hard

Yeah. I should have written combat. I meant shoot as in the spurts of combat sections.

Quantum Break tried to do everything Remedy is known for and kind fucked it up by taking its criticism too seriously. Long drawn out sequences to fill the game in, reading material to the point of pointlessness and really weak gunplay for a game that's supposed to be all about cathartic shooting. You would have sections of 15/30 minutes of nothing and then shooty for 10, rinse repeat. The pacing was totally fucked. Don't get me started on the episodes.

Remedy had great story, worldbuilding and gameplay because it focused on balancing all those aspects while prioritizing the gameplay.

The timepowers were awesome and could have been something great. I just think that Sam Lake probably should stick to writing instead of directing. He gets a bit too Kojima.

Alright. Unless it hits a massive discount, I'll go the youtube route and just hope for a sequel like you are and hope it remedies what was lackluster about the first.

This is what I saw in a few reviews too. That is a bit of a negative aspect.

    Control Demo Impressions.

Scifi with some ritualistic and ancient vibes on top of varying levels/dynamic environments. Apparently, even the weapon shown has a backstory of its own. This sound extremely interesting.

Some of those environments look straight out of Quantum Break :lmao

I dig it as the spiritual sequel anyway

Something about the marketing of the game seems off by Remedy's team but the game looks legit. I hope they bring their A game to this. It's been awhile since they've made a complete package.

Then again, they're already nailing the voice actor department.

I think they're just being cautious after Quantum Break. They put a ton of effort into Quantum Break and the return was not that good.

Quantum Break was their "Hollywood" game and it suffered immensely for it, story and gameplay. Control looks better in every way but something about the way they're talking about it irks me. Maybe it's just the social media aspect of it and I'm just a fag.

I love the flying aspect and the telekinesis tossing of items

not so sure about the shooting aspects yet but it is cool her gun can transform. Hope they do something real cool with that.

I also hope it's not such a linear trudge from setpiece to setpiece like Quantum Break was.

James McCaffrey needs more work in gaming, man. The overall looks of the the Oldest House reminds me of Mobius's Labs in the Evil Within DLC when the game was still stylish but also weird.

I'm hoping they spice up the enemy variety in the game cause I'm having Alan Wake deja vus. Just a bunch of normal people possessed by an evil force plus scaaaaaaaary, spooky flying household items!

Looks pretty damn good but I don't know why they finished that trailer like they're demoing Half Life 2 in 2001.
