My bad if this has been discussed

So I've been watching some Naruto fights and it seems that whenever a character lands a good hit it is revealed that it was just a clone that was hit. The thing that bothers me is that as a reader I have no way of knowing if its a clone or not and sometimes there is no explanation on when the character switched with the clone.

Has anyone else had issues with clones in fights?

Sometimes the clones just feel so cheap to me. It seems very convenient for the writer that whenever someone gets hit it's a clone. Except when its the finishing blow then no one ever uses a clone and they get hit and die.

Well the writer wont show every single detail..Clone feinting depends on the user's proficiency with the jutsu (like Kakashi, Itachi etc)..These guys make use of their sharingan precog and fast jutsu speed + Diversions to create clones..Sometimes it cheapens the fight example: Sasuke vs Deidara and Naruto vs Kakuzu..But other times its a pretty handy and cool tech that most shinobis use

It always annoys me when somebody fall for the clone feint and act like it's a genius strategy given how common it is.

    Agreed....

it definitely does feel cheap a lot of the time. They are also definitely used a lot so I think as readers we've come to expect it. Even though I think writers use to clone in order to add some kind of shock. It is just a worn out trick at this point.
