I like really emotional music, stuff that makes you feel sad or stuff that makes the bad feels easier to deal with.

What's your favorite sad time music?

Oh you like them, good, yeah, those lyrics always bring back some memories
Some electronic music with special kind of vocals, and melody, works if you're sad

I remember seeing the Meds video for the first time and being blown away by it. Really cool little thing.

Boards of Canada and Tycho are my go-to's for electronic stuff. Same with Aphex Twin and Shigeto. There's too many to list lol

The video makes you feel like you actually ARE on some pills, hence the name Meds
I really recommend checking out Running up That Hill.
My got-to for electronic is Muse, there are a lot of excellent songs by that band

Yes, one of my all time fav bands!
What's stopping you from bringing back those memories and listening to it again?

    Isn't most music emotional?

Anyway, you should probably give these bands a try:

    Mono
    Dvalà
    The Evpatoria Report
    pg.lost
    Yndi Halda

They're other post-rock bands, a bit like Explotions in the Sky. But in my ears they're on a whole different level. So much better!

And because you like Pelican you might also enjoy the early to mid-era releases by bands like Isis, Neurosis and Cult of Luna as they are other atmospheric sludge/post-metal bands. All three bands were rooted in hardcore punk and the further back into their discographies you go the more hardcore punk they will sound, but they are the three big names in the genre and the three bands that more or less laid down the foundation of the genre.

Most music is emotional, yes, but I meant like....I don't know what I meant actually. I just get different feels listening to bands like those than I do most other music.

I love Mono but I don't think I'm familiar with those others! Thanks for these suggestions :)
