Do you think, that Gutts is really fighting against "fate"?
All those apostles and SK always go "OOh. You survived the eclipse. You survived your destiny. bal bal bla.". What if his "escape", all his struggles and fights, his comrades and this resonating behelit in his pocket were all planned by God?
Something that even godhand doesn't know about.

wow. I think if that ever occurred to Gutts, he might kill himself out of despair. I would. Ok, Gutts wouldn't kill himself, but he'd start going after God if he could. :arg That's just so evil.

I wonder. Is there a other side to god? The idea of good or something? Or does Guts have other benefactors, like those spirits that were there before the church?

Or is Guts simply to badass to be a pawn of fate:gar?

Well, that's what Skull Knight believes, that everything is controlled by fate. But even with all this talk, he's clearly hoping for Guts to prove that wrong, which kinda happened when Guts survived the Eclipse.

Believe me, I have thought about this matter. If he is destined to be "The Struggler" then it's not really fighting destiny, it's fulfilling it, which is why I think, humans shouldn't give a fuck about fate, just do your stuff.

I guess it becomes a question of what you consider fate to be defined as in the manga. If your fate is where you ultimately end up, then it is impossible for gutts or anyone to violate this. But if fate is the plan the idea of evil has set up for each character and the world, then I believe gutts is struggling and will eventually succeed in his endeavour.
