I wanted to work on hatching today and deceded to sketch out Edward from the FullMetal Alchemist movie. I was going to leave it as a simple sketch but then I got an idea on how to turn it into my computers new wallpaper. I've got two versions and even though I like the first one better the second has an interesting dirt about it. I'm trying to figure out a way to really push it to see if it becomes something special. References were used for the hair style, eyes, automail, and clothes; however the pose was not referenced and the articals that were referenced were not copied but I just couldn't remember how they looked exactly. Critiques are always more than welcome and if you guys want to see the drawing more clearly I can upload a version without the brown or the text. And as usual for a full resolution version you can check it out on DeviantArt here: big Mac

I dont like the 2nd img at all. I suggest you get rid of it. Also might wanna try and clean up some of those lines. Good job though.

Thanks guys. I have played around with it a bit and came up with a texture that pushes it in a better direction. I do want to come up with something that looks less artificial but I'm not that familiar with textures in photoshop.

The brown really gives this pic a very interesting look. It really works well. Like a template or...something.
