In many movies, shows, and series, stuff explodes inexplicably. No matter what the nature of the injury or damage, an object or vehicle will seemingly always explode spectularly just because.

Two famous abusers of this phenomeon are the Mobile Suits of Gundam, where suits explode after stubbing their big toes on rocks, and the Consoles of Death in Star Trek where the slightest bit of tension on screen turns everyday controls into spark producing, sharpnel throwing, deathtraps.

Which of these two is least believeable or most novel to you?

I'll have you know good sir that exploding consoles have been classified as Omega level threats. So don't compare them to mere Mobile Suits when-

I think exploding consoles killed more crew members in Star Trek then any of the aliens they encountered. Consoles take this.
