I'm getting a 30GB iPod for Christmas, and according to the tech specs:

Now, if this question has been asked before, apologies. I don't visit or post in this forum very often. Anyone with one of the new iPods able to put .avi files, such as the fansubs we download each week, onto their players? I know you can't play them in iTunes, but does anyone know of a crack or codec or some way of doing so?

If so, that would be awesome, especially when on the run and you want to explain what these shows like Naruto or Bleach are to people. Not only that, but you could obviously download them, and watch them on the way to work, commuting or whatever it is you do in your daily life, much like people are doing with episodes of Lost, podcasts, etc.
