I have an odd attraction to horror based games all the sudden even through I'm not a big fan of being scared.

I loved resident evil 4. Kinda nerve racking but not all that scary, but Leon is so awesome and in control, and he's always fairly steady and tough with his voice even when coming across the strangest things. He's so elite, if ya know what I mean, all his dodging and stuff.

I play some Doom 3. Not bad, but eventually you know what to expect, you can predict that something will fly out of that door and scare you half to death, and so on and so forth, so it gets a little linear.

    Silent Hill.

Resident Evil and Fatal Frame didn't seem to scare me.

[I think this belongs in the gaming department, also]

Resident Evil 4. It was the main reason I was able to make it through my deployment to the middle east.

Splatterhouse 3 for Sega Genesis scared me when I was young. Now Silent Hill 2 and 3 are probably the scariest around. Resident Evil is probably one of my favorite franchises, but it isn't really scary.

I loved the first Resident Evil, but I haven't played any since. (Do you think I should?) Silent Hill is also great to play - especially in the middle of the night, with all the lights out. :kukuku

Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams is my pick if we're going on pure horror. One of my favorite single-player experiences of all time.

Resident Evil 4 is like game of the decade, but it's more action than horror.
