This is easily of one the most anticipated mysteries yet to be revealed in the series.

But we may have a few clues that allow us to speculate the nature of his ability.

First is Kite's hatsu - Crazy Slots. Its probabilistic nature is at odds with Kite's pragmatic approach, yet it's befitting his master, Ging's playful and risk-taking character. It's very likely that the choice of this hatsu was heavily inspired by Ging, possibly by Ging's own hatsu.

Two, Greed Island. We know Ging is the main designer of Greed Island. One of the reasons he created it was to train Gon. Assuming Ging did not only supply ideas, but was deeply involved in its creation with his own hatsu, it will give us some glimpse into his ability.

Luck is a huge element in the game of Greed Island. There is a Gambling City where you can acquire certain cards by luck, and there is a Risky Dice to help you boost your luck.

See what I'm getting at? I speculate that Ging's hatsu is probabilistic in nature just as Crazy Slots. It's supposed to be a restriction that enhances his nen, yet with Ging's resourcefulness, even a bad hand can be turned into his advantage. And Ging may have a second hatsu that boosts his luck. It will be perfect using with his first hatsu.
