I didnt check if somebody already made this thread so I hope that its the first!
anyway just wondered who here has heard of Grime music and what they thought of it.
Its always been something that I imagined 99.9% of people outside of the u.k hadnt really heard about and that out of those who have heard it a further 99.9% dont get it.... infact I would go so far as to say if you dont really come from London, Manchester, Birmingham or any other big english city then you probably wont get it either... is this just preumptous of me? or am I right?

also if you have heard of grime music (its closest partner that most people would have heard of is hip hop but its still very different from that) then post your thoughts on it here just want to know if people are generally feeling it or not... and if you want to hear what it is then just say and i'll pm you an album or two..

well here is a link to Dizzee Rascals first album so those who want to hear some grime can give it a d-load... its a yousendit link so its not permanent..

yea i've heard of grime music before. i can't really say if i really like it or not though.
i've only listened to dizzee rascal before. he is an amazing rapper so its hard for me all of grime music based on just him.

ill send everyone on the list both of his albums. they are both very solid albums.

Okay Catatonik im gonna pm you a link I'll send you Kano's album and Dizee Rascals first album....
Kano is a v.talented grime mc his album is surprisingly well polished for such a raw fied of music and Dizee Rascals first album just has those dark beats its more raw then his second effort..

yea send me that kano album. im interested in hearing it.

his first album is definetely more raw than his second but its easy to see why. with his first album he was just some 15 year old kid making an album. he didn't have all the luxuries he did with his second album, so naturally it would be more raw. while his first album may be a more solid album overall, some of the songs on his second album are better than the songs on his first. IMO. like hype talk and everywhere. im just happy he didn't stray from grime music. i've heard he is the second most popular rap artist in england, right behind the streets.

sent everyone on the music list both of dizzee rascals albums

yeah he is popular more of an mc than a rapper in England its different an mc would do grime and garage where a rapper just does hip hop.. we have quite a big uk hip hop scene but its still mostly underground...
i'll send you the link for kano's album now.. he worked with the streets on it i think he signed to the streets "crew". Well for me Kano is the best grime mc as i think he could flow over any beat

i heard of him from my roommate at college last year. he had him on his comp and said he was real cool and that i should listen to him. i think he got the cd from one of his friends. he said that dizzee's beats on his first album came from the ps2 music generater. which is what got me interested.

thats why i prefer his first album hard sounding beats gritty unpolished raw beats.... the secon album obvioulsy has alot more money behind it production wise
