Groundhog Day

Discussion in 'Konoha Theatre' started by Deleted member 84471, Jun 2, 2007.

  1. Absolutely classic movie, hilariously clever, definitely one of my favorite movies of all-time. Bill Murray really shines with a great original plotline.

"In the film, Murray plays Phil Connors, an egocentric Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania TV weatherman who, during a hated assignment covering the annual Groundhog Day event (February 2) in Punxsutawney, finds himself repeating the same day over and over and over again. Subsequent to his indulging in all manner of hedonistic pursuits, he begins to reexamine his life and priorities."

A dosage of shame to be taken three times a day for anyone who hasn't seen it.

this movie is great definitely, although i always thought he didnt take nearly enough advantage out of the situation

  4. Well the writers and the director Harold Ramis (Egon from Ghostbusters) said they ignored the 'dark side' of Phil's character they could have explored, like they didn't want to show him murder or rape etc.

I always thought that movie is highly underrated. People just say, funny, not bad, worth a try.

For me, its one of the greatest comedies of the 90's. Bill Murray=God.

    Absolutely MUST watch.

Awesome movie. I also liked him in Ghostbusters and Big. Murray's a funny guy, I tell ya, especially in the scene in Big where he dances on the piano at the toystore with his employer.
