Lu Bu = The strongest man under heaven

Guan Yu = Multi talented, said to be equal to 10,000 men

Lu Bu fought Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and Liu Bei to a standstill...... and we're talking about just Guan Yu? Heck, they killed Lu Bu so he wouldn't wreak more havoc in the future on anyone; he was just too strong.

Hmm, I always though Zhao Yun was better than Guan Yu anyway.

Zhao Yun would seem better than Guan Yu, but that was prolly because the author made him seem perfect in the book.

I don't think i was a standstill, I think he was running away. I don't even remember the rankings of the actual tiger generals.

Something like Guan Yu >= Zhao Zilong > Zhang Fei = Ma Chao. I don't recall where Huang Zhong fits in either. At somepoint I considered him better than Guan Yu because of the whole "I fired two blanks and then aimed three inches above your forehead" but I dunno, in a full scale battle I imagine Guan Yu would do more damage...

Oh, right, Lu Bu ftw. I dunno what would be a fair match up for Lu Bu? Ma Chao, Zhao Zilong and Huang Zhong?

are we talkin bout this based on dynasty warriors, or the actual history.

either LuBu ftw, if its based on dynasty warriors ma chao would make a better fight.

in history, that guy was too much, and even when he fought guan yu and zhang fei at the same time, liu bei still had to come in and help just to drive him away. the guy was shooting arrows from unbelievable distances. it took betrayal of his own people to rob his horse and catch while he sleep, and liu bei + zhang fei + guan yu + cao cao had to plan just to capture him

If your talking about the DW games, they were actually almost equal up until the 4th one where they really weakened Guan Yu. He was extremely powerful in the 3rd I remember about as good as Lu Bu. He remained good in the 4th and 5th but was no titan like Lu Bu.

In the first DW No one (stat wise) was stronger than him.

In real life..I wouldnt really now. All I can go by is what the history books tells us but you cant belive everything they say.

Any how history says Lu-bu was the greatist figther in that era in his country, and took the betrayel of his own ppl to take him down.

Eww, they made Ma Chao that strong in the game? Ma Chao was supposed to be only on Zhang Fei's level (which means weaker than Guan Yu).
Yup, his own generals sold him out because Lu Bu listened to his wives and not his generals or something.

    not talking about DW..
    iam talking about actual history.

when it comes to battle, i believe that the Authors presented Both Zhang Fei and Guan Yu as Equals..
Ma Chao was weaker than both brothers.

For all of you DW players, get 'ROTK X' on ps2 it's much more informative.

Yeah, I'm not really going on any of the DW games... I actually read the whole ROTK. You can find it online if you want to read it.

regardless, against any singular person lu bu would probably win

Sorry, but Lu Bu has this one. Guan Yu fought him and was only able to survive due to his sworn brothers jumping in to help out.

Chamcham, did that really happen (in actual history?)
I know that Guan Yu participated in the attack against Dhong Zhou (Lu Bu was his vassle.. until he killed Dhong Zhou for Diao Chan), but what i don't know is if Lu Bu and Guan Yu actually did go head to head.

In ROTK X Guan Yu had nothing to do with Lu Bu exept after Lu Bu tricked Zhang Fei and took (the city near Bei Hai) i 4got the name of the city XD

even then Lui Bei did not allow neither Guan Yu or Zhang Fei to attack Lu Bu
Actually.. they were on more friendly terms..
Lu Bu saved Lui Bei from Yuan Shaos attack by hitting the tiny hole in his cresent haluiberd from a larg distance.. he said that it is a sign from the heavens that Yuan Shao should not attack Lui Bei.

Then again i might not know what iam talking about because all of this info i got from playing ROTK v,iiv and X

DW is informative but some things you see can mislead you. :wink

Let's keep in mind though he already killed multiple generals that day since everyone was attacking him.. so he was fatigued even before he started fighting the 3 brothers.

Ok Lu-Bu would win due to history saying he was the greatist of his era and location.

Oh, that? That's not from DW, that was in the books written by Mr. Guanzhong hundreds of years ago.

Maybe if it was two Guan us on two Red Hares vs. Lu Bu. Or maybe The Five Tiger Generals vs. Lu Bu, but that might be too much.

Zhang Fei + Guan Yu would seem more than enough to handle Lu Bu

If you've read The Romance of the Three Kingdoms you'd know this is no contest...Lu Bu. He managed to tie with all three brothers at once. Guan Yu alone would get beat pretty fast...though I'd say he's easily the second most fearsome Three Kingdoms warrior.

3 Guan Yu fanboys, haha. I don't think Zhang Fei and Guan yu would've been enough, though.

Nnno quite, dad. Shortly after Ma Chao fights with Zhang Fei (to a stalemate) Guan Yu overhears and wants to go fight Ma Chao, but Liu Bei mentions that he is stronger than Ma Chao and would kill him.

Anyways like I said, the tiger generals minus Yide and Guan Yu would be a good match.

    Lu Bu for the win.
Never read the book but the dude is seriously on the hacks in the game series.

    Guan Yu kinda sucked.

Yup :amuse Now let's get that post count to 2 k! :nuts
The book is freakin' nuts. You have to try it out.
Guan Yu had the balls to say "Hey you Southland bitches, you'll have to rip Jingzhou from my cold, dead, hands"
