I've only met two and you've probably never heard of either of them. About a decade ago, I went to a martial arts convention called "Dragonfest". I met Don 'the Dragon' Wilson, probably mostly famous for the "Bloodfist" franchise and even got a photo with him. I remember he was talking to some guy and he kept name dropping himself a lot, which was...odd...But he had no issue taking a picture with me and unlike a lot of guys there, he didn't charge any money.

I also met Fumio Demura, whose mostly known for his stuntwork than his acting. He's probably mostly famous for being Pat Morita's stunt double in "The Karate Kid". He is actually the one you see doing the Crane Kick. He did appear in some movies though, such as "Ninja" with Scott Adkins.

At that same con I recognized a few others, but didn't actually approach them. The thunder guy from "Big Trouble in Little China" was charging $40 per autograph and I was too poor for that. Vince/Virgil from WWF/WCW was there and even though I was a huge wrestling fan at the time, I thank God I didn't seek him out as I hear he's prone to ripping people off. He was much bigger than I expected him to be though. The big star was the main bad guy from "Mortal Kombat", but too many people were swarming him so I only saw him from a distance. His hair cut at the time was bizarre.

Anyway, nothing impressive from me. But have you met anyone who counts as a 'celebrity' in any way, shape or form?

I remember seeing Richard Madden (Robb Stark from GOT) in my local Asda years ago but didn't go up to him as I think he was out with his dad and didn't want to annoy him, missed opportunity :(

Why is this funny? American celebrities are world famous. Things they sign get put up in restaurant, museums, and shit. Some of them also keep bodyguards. They aren't just neighborhood friends like Portuguese "celebrities".

Restaurants, bars, etc..., hiring them to help promote their business is one thing, the celebrities themselves personally demanding money from random fans for a photo and an autograph is just scummy on their part and stupid on the part of the ones who actually pay for such pointless absurdity .

I've never seen them demanding money from someone just coming up to them on the street. The money is usually at signing events and raising money for something else. On the street a lot of the time celebs will just refuse to sign otherwise everybody in the area will come up and ask. A lot of the things they sign can be resold online for quite a bit of money though.

I have a picture of me with Karen Gillian who is the best.

I met Ben Carson, if that counts. And Old George Bush.

Long ago I met Amy Lee of Evanescence at a signing thing in town. And one time I am pretty sure I met Lawerence Fishburne. I say pretty sure because we were at a restaurant and he was there. I walked over and asked has anyone ever told him he looked like Fishburne and he smiled real big and said "All the time". I'm like 90% it was him and he was just fucking with us. He had the same teeth and smile and voice.

I would never pay for another person's signature. And unless it's going to a good cause, I don't think I can respect celebrities who ask for it.

It's not enough that I advance your career and put millions in your pocket by paying to see your movies but you want me to pay for another red blooded human's autograph on top of it?

Yesterday I went to hang out with my friends for the first time in a month and we went to our local university bar. As I walk in Franky Grande was walking out (he went to the college the bar is located on) so I said what's up to him. Really random, I knew him from Big Brother.

I forgot that I saw a football player who was apparently famous (I assume he was part of the Arizona Cardinals). I was eating at Subway and this big dude came in. Some kids asked him if he was *insert name that I've forgotten here* and he confirmed it, signed some autographs, got his food and got into a real nice SUV. I assume he was a football player as he had the build for it.

Well a lot of the time it pays for the celebrity to be where they are and take time out of their day to get to you. I was supposed to meet Karen Gillan years ago but Guardians 2 was shooting and then Jumanji 2 or the other way around so she couldn’t make it. Truthfully if you’re paying for older actors who aren’t working to take pictures with you it’s much cheaper.

Kinda... But no. I have been places where celebs were around, but I don't care enough about anyone to wade through a crowd just for a chance to keep something someone wrote their name on.

    Not a fan of idolatry.
