Ooooh, awesome! So glad this isn't getting canceled so early. The tournament arc felt like it was rushing to an ending, but maybe not? Can't wait for this and Kengan Ashura. Hope it gets done by a good studio, though. After Haikyuu!! and All-Out I can't deal with sub-par animations.

I didn't get that feeling just that most of the non important parts were skipped whereas the author spent a long time on the more important matches as they were the longest in the series. Redundant matches were also largely skipped. Overall the manga has quite fast constant pace with minimal downtime.

Weak start, but I hear it improves after a bit.

In my opinion it was. It lacked the kind of hook the best sports anime tend to start off with, and reminded me of some somewhat recent Sports anime that totally missed the mark for me like DAYS or All Out! in terms of tone.

Not to say that I won't give it some time.

Somehow I missed the episode on Friday so I just watched it now. I liked ep 2 quite a bit more than ep 1.

I really like where this is going and I also enjoyed how the match played out in terms of explaining the technical aspect of both sumo and wrestling without making it feel too technical. Can't wait to see more of this.

The OP for this anime is a banger. It has this nostalgiac feeling to it that I can't quite place. Hinomaru's bouts with both Kariya and Kuze were awesome! Kariya is a pretty tricky sumo wrestler, whereas Kuze is a beast.
