    Dear NF People,
On My School exist 2 Sides of People , The One who listens to Hip Hop Music and the other one who listens to Rock 'n' Roll / Metal Music.

I'm a very Crazy Guy who is talking to every one And I'm no scared to speak to Guys which I not know.

I'm a Guy who listens To Hip Hop and RnB and I wear clothes in that Style too.
But Most of the Guys of my Friends who listens Hip Hop dont want talk with the Rock-People because they think that they are Freaks and have no Taste of Fashion.

And If I'm talking with some Friends of the Rock Side(I have many Friends there), They talking the same Things to me and say why I'm wearing things like that and why I'm Friends with Hip Hop Guys.

Afterwards if I'm going back to the HipHop Group they ask me , Why I'm talking to such Freaks ..

I don't know what to do , The 2 Sides are for me Like 2 Dumb Group Of Children.

I Listen to Hip Hop Music but I have no Problem with Rock / Metal .
Have u witnessed something similar ?

What do you think ? Do you belong to Groups like that too ?

    In Love, Trollzilla

You intended to do a poll. Where is it ? I think it could be a good idea.

Your school is made of sectarist idiots. Music is music. Enjoy it or not, but taking a style like entering religion or in a "side" is rather unwise. I don't blame it actually, my schools were like that too... (stupid rock-hiphop brawls... fighting for silly stuff) Good that you avoid them.

    Ecclectism rules :
    - I can enjoy good Old School style hip hop, that deals with deeper things than the current "blin-bling ho bitch mansion benz money blah blah"
    - rock makes me either jump if it's metal or happy if it's soft. Emo used to make me be stupid, though... As whole, I like rock
    - Pop : VERY selective. I hate most of it, but there happen to be little gems
    - lounge : ouh yeah baby... music for relaxing and thinking
    - techno : see "Pop"
    - I also happen to listen to stuff that can't be classified. I mean... Even I don't understand why I find it fun (for the french people, I'm talking about Didier Super, or Les Betteraves)

Open your ears, people, there's so many sounds around ! ^_^

Trollzilla does it, I do it, Zaru does it.
off topic : @Zaru, OMG !! That new sig image exploded me with laughters !!

Troll, it's the same as with religion.

The original purpose was: Enjoy the music and be happy with it.
Such as a religious belief is usually intended to satisfy the urge of people to believe in something. They can be happy with it.

But just as religion was abused by people to gain power and control over others, music was abused by people to have a reason for not liking someone and/or forming a group.

You, on the other hand, are doing it rite. You enjoy music but you're not judging people by their music interest.

    I 2nd this..

Well, it sadly happens all the time..

I for one listen to all types of genres, but I specialize in Hip-Hop.. :wink

But, I have lots of punk/scene/hardcore etc etc friends..

Just because you don't have the same taste of music, doesn't mean your not friends..

    Right? :nuts

Something about this post just rubbed me in teh wrong way. Maybe it was that "some rapper are becoming racist" part that sounded overtly retard

But yeah, being friends with people because they listen to this kind of music is retarded in itself. Don't contribute to the segregation.

    Rephrase and try again.

I'm assuming you're referring to commercial Hip-Hop because it is impossible for hip-hip as a whole to be the worst kind of music :p. I recommend you go to the intelligent hip-hip/rap discussion thread where you'll be given good hip-hop at your request.

To the OP: Musical taste is something that friends share in common, so it makes sense for people to form friendships with other people that have the same taste in music. However, for there to a be a clear divide to the point where there are different groups simply based on taste in music, there is something wrong with your school.

    Hip-Hop > Rock'n'Roll / Metal, imo.

Pop music (yes dears, both hip-hop and metal are genres of pop music) is tribal by nature, and different groups of young people will listen to different types of music. It's been like that since The cool kids listening to Stones and Beatles bullied the guys who listened to The Zombies and feared the creepy kids who listened to Led Zeppelin.

All expressions of youth culture somehow serves to show who you have something in common with, and more importantly, who you do not have something in common with.

As for personal feelings, the hip-hoppers are fun people, but kinda unstabile personality-wise, the metalheads are all too nice and kinda boring, and the punks rape them both when it comes to throwing a decent party :amuse

Honestly, I like both forms of music.

I like Rap R&B annnnd rock.

Though there is only one rock group I like and It's the gentlemen. They're the only rockstars I like. Other then that the rest suck to me. Also your school is stupid as hell. Rap is rap rock is rock they're all music and nothing you need to have groups over.

At my school everybody like rap, pretty much.

If rock was 100%, Hip-hop (as a whole, including the "shit bitch crack fuck booze" stuff as well as more "intelligent" hip-hop) is 80%. Now if rock was against the "intelligent" hip-hop, hip-hop would easily have 110%. That "shit bitch crack fuck booze" stuff takes it down.

i'm kinda in the same situation here. i like hip-hop and pop music. but most of my friends listen to national slow music (it's called "türkü", turkish music), which i find very depressing and boring. i have my own solution for this. whenever we (my friends and i) are in such bars or everyone just sings such music, i just either sleep or dont talk to anyone.
@thread starter - u just keep being friends with all of 'em. your doing right thing.
