I just learned about the 3rd installment of the series a few days ago and it sparked me revisiting the first two movies with my 6 year old. I forgot how good the movies and story are, so I'm pretty excited for it. Now I need to just watch the other stuff they've put out.

I also spent over an hour the first night i heard about the 3rd movie on YouTube learning about all the dragons.

  4. I loved these movies! Will have to rewatch the first two to get ready for this one

That looked awesome, Hiccup supporting Toothless is nice.

The way the new dragon transports itself by firing a fireball into another like teleporation is cool.

Hiccup with a full beard might be in the ending, he looks way older to just shave it later and let the plot of the movie take place.

The original HTTYD is a prime exaple of how a cliche story can still be great, thanks to good writing, performances, music, and animation.

I'm not sold on this tbh. Looks to be the worst of the trilogy.

If there's one thing that soured me on 2, it was his mom. In the first movie, when Stoic mentioned that they fashioned his and Hiccup's helmets out of the mom's breastplate, I always ALWAYS imagined a lady as big as Stoic with enormous boobs - I mean, they'd have to be enormous if you could make a helmet out of their breastplate after all.

Then she shows up in 2 and she's not that, and it's like, boooo! You very clearly establish that she's absolutely stacked in the first movie, but when she shows up in the second, she's not. Where's the giant tiddies narrative consistency?

That lack of care for established characterization shows through in this trailer too. Here you have Stoick having a Mufasa talk with kid Hiccup. The fuck? Did any of these filmmakers even watch the first movie? Hiccup would have been the last kid on the planet Stoick would have a talk with about grand destinies before the setting sun.

I always remember the trailer for the second movie ruining the surprise of his mom's appearance too. That honestly killed a lot of my hype. This one kind of shows off a Toothless becomes King of the Dragons plotpoint, so atleast they're consistent with that.

But yeah, I hope it's good - and, I hope that it is a far better cap to the trilogy than KFP3 was to its trilogy.
