JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is great. But Dio Brando's design is a rip off of Hisoka :maybe

WHAT!? Are you for real?? I was sure that Araki time travelled into the future and stole the design of Hisoka. Mind = Blown.

Hisioka transcends space and times, the concept of clown was actually based on Hisioka.

I really should finish reading Part 6 of JJBA. I'm so slow at this.

I think Part 4 is my favourite. It's like the Final Fantasy IX of the series in terms of popularity. Josuke is a total bro.

What is this JoJo's Bizzare Adventure you speak of? I think I've heard the name before. Wikipedia's description looks super-interesting, at least the premise of it sounds fascinating. :hmm

What do you say, should I drop Fairy Tail (I just started reading that, 10 volumes in, losing interest a bit) and start reading JJBA?

    Oh god, YES.

    You'll thank us later.

Just be sure to give it a chance, as it's a very long manga. You'll probably have to read more than 10 volumes to fully appreciate JJBA. It's totally worth it though.

Interesting question. Well it depends whether you or not you mind a series being incredibly far into publication. It's been going for about 2 decades, though it is a very odd case. One could argue it isn't so much a long ongoing manga as it is a series of manga set within the same universe with related characters. Pretty much each story arc is considered another part of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure continuity, while most connections between said parts are loose, even more so when you get to the more recent stuff which is in an alternate universe. Umm, yeah as I was trying to say, It's a really long series with a lot to go through, if you are into that, go for it. Just be warned it's bizarre (but in the best way :amuse).

As for dropping Fairy Tail... I don't think you should drop it as things get better from volume 10. But if you are bored with it and want something different maybe just drop it and pick up JoJo. I'd recommend both though.

Nah, I really think he should drop Fairy Tail. I mean.. It's just not very good..

I wish someone had slapped some sense into me whilst I was reading Katekyou Hitman Reborn!...

Most Shonen manga are utter tripe.

For me personally, sometimes things are fine just being 'good'. They don't need to be amazing, they just need to be fun enough for me to spend my time with. I find Fairy Tail and Reborn! to be both silly fun. There isn't much thought provoking material there but it doesn't need to be. I love Reborn! for it's wierdness and it's fun cast of characters (I just like hanging out with them even if the story they are involved in may be weak). I like Fairy Tail for being kinda like a 'light' version of One Piece. It's like One Piece minus the incredibly conceived world and deeper message. Both of them are fine just being the way they are. Sometimes dumb fun is better than no fun. Not everything needs to be thought provoking, complex and amazing. Just 'good' is fine by me. :)

Have never read Jojo, but after googling that guy's images, I don't think they look like each other either, except for maybe the heart shapes and the pointed shoes. But using just that to say Hisoka's design was based on that guy's design is very far-fetched.

Personally, I don't give two f***s that they're siblings. They're made for each other, that's just how it is.

I tried reading JBB before and honestly, I couldn't really get into it because of how confusing it is with all the multiple storylines happening in it, which made it harder to keep up. Granted, that was a very long time ago so maybe I won't have much trouble with it. But I wouldn't stop reading FT for it. I won't say FT is awesome, tho it is a good read for some light entertainment and the comedy. It gets a lot better after a while too, which is normal for most Shounen.

not really since you can take breaks every story
not the battle system but the ingenuity of the fighters
that and the vast array of complex abilities
