I think there's going to be one more sizable filler arc.

If they continue with the story right after the current arc then they will run into the same problem that made them create the Mitsuki retrieval arc to begin with. There just isn't any manga for them to cover without catching up to the manga. You only got the Feudal son arc which won't last longer than three episodes and then the Ao arc. That's it, after that they are fully caught up and with a monthly release its unlikely that the manga will have gotten much further than it is now.

    Maybe Rai does. :doge

I actually don't think the anime will be cancelled, so I think it's gonna eventually cover the manga (tho manga could be cancelled by then....)

My first thought was early 2020. If it was soon, I think we would at least have some kind of indication by now.

Running fillers is also working well for them. So they have no pressure with the anime.

I think the Manga probably won't be covered by the anime again until the second half of 2020 (If Boruto doesn't go bi-weekly by then).

You think it will take them 6-7 years to reach the point where Kawaki smashes Himawari's vase? My god :lmao

Edit: oooh sorry my math. 5-6 years. Still ridiculous.

There's barely any manga to cover, the anime would easily finish it within several months. :tiredpepe

Platypus thinks there's only enough manga material for 10 episodes.

    Platy is right :oldryoma :oldryoma.

Another option for them is to show bits and pieces of the manga and put long stretches of filler inbetween. Shit that's better than just filler.

This is true though, which is why they will pad the hell out of the bandits arc, then return to anime original land for a year or more then rinse and repeat.

They could just expand the arcs.

Mujina Arc - Give us a backstory on the Mujina Gang, and Fat-ass Shojoji. End the flash-back episode (or two episodes) with them being put into jail, and Shojoji vowing to get them back.

Next episode starts off like the Manga.

Expand the training. Let Boruto train alongside Tentou, and drive in hard work for nostalgia like the good old days.

Team7-2.0 obviously had a mission before they had to rescue Boruto, maybe they could explain what the mission is and actually have Sarada/Mitsuki/Konohamaru complete it while Boruto is trying to figure out where Tentou is.

Yeah it would be a retcon, but they already retconned Sumire joining the Chunin Exams... So who gives a fuck.

Expand Boruto v. Shojoji - obviously. Make it a bit longer, add some style.

The conclusion of the Arc is fine. Sarada/Mitsuki getting the last kill, Seal activating, and Sasuke-interrogating Shojoji.

    ------------

Obviously the Ao Arc needs a shit-ton of work, more so with Ao's backstory post-War Arc.

    --------

If Ikemoto doesn't do it already ... Kawaki can clearly interact with more Genin to draw out the episodes longer and make his relationships feel better.

    ------

..... So yeah this series is making the worst moves if they don't expand the important shit. But hey, Cho-Cho needs an Arc about her love and chips.

Anime will definitely surpass Naruto at this rate.

Usually one chapter → one episode more or less (ep.65 covered 2.5 chapters due to the manga's slow pacing though…)

But they could easily drag stuff out like:
    - Team Konohamaru's supposed B-rank mission
    - The Mujina bandits
    - Team Konohamaru traveling to and in Ryutan City
    - Team Konohamaru spending time in the research facility and testing Katasuke's tech
    etc.

Or insert filler arcs at certain points:
    - After Shojoji's defeat
    - After Kawaki falls unconscious (let's say he's unconscious for about a week: plenty of time for Team Konohamaru to go on another filler adventure or whatever)

    SP should hire me :uguu

Although none of my ideas are as outrageous as having Sasuke flashback to an entire arc about Itachi's past when Madara has just cast Infinite Tsukuyomi or writing a whole alternative reality dream arc.

They will start covering it when you become a full grown adult and stop wanking the series.

1 canon ep every 10 filler episodes, hopefully we're still alive by then.

They could also adapt the Sasuke Shinden novel before that.

I'm not the biggest fan of the boruto anime..but I really love the manga actually! So i'm hoping that the anime won't ever crossover into canon :sniff:sniff. Because I feel like even if the boruto manga was super good, people won't be able to get into the anime if they have to watch through hundreds of slow paced filler episodes before it gets to canon stuff that moves the plot forward. I had this problem with animes like Gintoki and Hitman Reborn people told me they get really good later on but when I tried to watch them I was just sitting through so many episodes of nothing happening waiting for it to get to the 'good' parts that I didn't even want to bother. An action anime can get away with starting off good and with fast pacing then having some filler spread throughout, or tacked on at the end like in Naruto. But It can't get away with starting off with slow pacing and filler, because people aren't very likely to get invested in the series if it doesn't have a strong start! :laugh:laugh
