    How many people here knew about yesterday? (Sorry I didn't get to post it then, I had to work, then my roomie was working on projects...)

    POLL QUESTION: What did you do yesterday?

    Has anyone here braved any of these "After Thanksgiving" sales? What all have you seen of them? Anybody else ever have to WORK during one?

    I had to work from 9-6 (not in a store thank god) then I went home, I didn't buy anything (except food for breakfast and lunch), and I was amazed at how little traffic there was.

    i went did the whole "black friday" thing for the first time on friday. My friends and lined up at fry's (electronics store - mainly computers) at about 1:30 (store opens at 5 am that day) All i can say is OVERRATED. I got nothing that i really wanted/needed and all the prices were alright - most can be found online for cheaper. However, there were some ridiculous deals such as a laptop for 400 dollars and a desktop for 100. Too bad i was in the market for a midrange laptop (1500). Too bad they had none on sale =/. I came out with two things - 80 gig harddrive for "free" (after mail in rebates) and a 10 dollar microwave - whoop de doo. My friends didn't get that many things either. All i can say is - i'm never doing that again. This day was so overhyped and there were so many people grabbing stuff that they thought was a good deal but in reality it could probably be found for much cheaper online.

    Buy nothing day is impossible!

    you warm your house, your buying gas or eletricity, you take a drink, your buying water...etc etc

    cant be done, well, not without putting yourself through some unneccasary damage =/

    I work as a phone receptionist for an internet commerce company, taking sales calls.

    It SUCKED.

    Buy Nothing day would probably go over just about as well as "Give me a dollar day", were everyone would have to send me 1 dollar.

    I didn't know about it, but I also didn't really buy anything...

    Let's see....

    I got up late, showered, tried to find out my financial situation by making several phone calls to my bank (which is located out of town), went and saw the Harry Potter movie by myself, and finished the day at my friend's movie marathon party drinking and being reminded why guys shouldn't ever get piercings near their testicles.
