Izuru could probably manage it. Firstly he's well over the threshold of superhuman intellect, being smarter with computers than kids who built sentient Artificial Intelligence (Junko and Chihiro). He's smarter than any ultimates put together to the extent that they bore him. He can practically read minds with his ability to read into people's actions, speech and expressions. He should be able to visualise all chess possibilites in his mind at once and read into Tet's strategies like "Blank" did.

Then there's Izuru's insane luck. Nagito was confident in his luck to the extent that he bet confidently on Russian roulette with 5/6 chambers full. But Izuru took the same attitude with a fully loaded revolver, and it misfired, even when shot by the Ultimate Lucky Student Nagito. It might not be an obvious help in chess, but if there's any element of chance involved, Izuru's luck is as good as magic.

@Aduro I'm actually putting Izuru in pre-Ten pledges disboard. so no Tet or games.

No game no life zero is a setting where humanity only survived thanks to the help of Ex-machina. Riku managed to secure Ex-machinas' help. and through Riku's manipulation of other races, he managed to manipulate the outcome of great war to his favor. that is, the fall of Old Deus.
but because Riku is just a human, he cannot become One True God, so Riku wished for Tet, the remaining god to fill that position. and all races got Race Pieces after that, I think the reason why humanity got 'King' Race Piece is because Tet want to honor the race who put an end to Great War.

Riku, despite his intelligence, cannot win chess game against blatant cheating opponent like a living computer (Ex-machina). but he can still steer the long-term outcome even if he loses. and the reason why Riku got Ex-machina's help is because one (two?) of them fell in love with him.

which is why I'm wondering if Izuru is as smart as Riku or not. from your description, he seems very good. he might be able to win a chess game against Ex-machina.
though, I think the dealbreaker here is his Luck.
