He needs to land that, all Hashirama has to do is send an attack in King's direction and he wins.

King is faster and has mind reading plus barriers that block island level attacks easily.

That combined with the versatility of his attacks and I'd say he gets that one hit eventually.

Doesn't mastering senjutsu chakra have to deal with the whole resisting petrification thing? We saw what happened when the Pain body that absorbed Senjutsu chakra from Senjutsu mode Naruto got turned to stone. :hm

    Huh? No.

Prethra Path tried to absorb his chakra, but got stoned since he couldn't handle the senjutsu. But senjutsu itself doesn't offer resistance to petrification, being turned to stone is just a penalty for handling the energy wrong.

So that would count as being able to resist it. You have to master senjutsu energy iirc so you don't have that fuck up in the first place. I could be wrong, maybe @LazyWaka knows, I'm just spitballing here.

Yeah mastering Senjutsu means learning to deal with the petrification part without getting petrified by filtering it out. At least that's how Frog Senjutsu works but we have no reason to believe Hashirama's version shouldn't follow the same base principle.

Madara had Hashirama's cells implanted in him, cells that were already accustumed to it. Madara is also highly talented himself, there's no reason to believe he wouldn't have picked it up without difficulties with that advantage..

Assuming that sages can resist petrification, King still has Status Promotion to increase the power of his attacks. So it'd still be possible for him to win even if Hashi has the resistance.

Edit: in regards to sm not being evidence towards petrification resistance.

What's the difference between resisting the petrification effect of Nature chakra and resisting petrification?

Not an expert on Naruto but from what I got it was something like:

If you do this wrong you will get petrified

And he did not do it wrong so he did not get petrified.

So he was never exposed to actual petrification.

    -

Someone may have to clear that up however, its just my interpretation from what was said here.

    Btw: King also has mindwipe.

If you fail to control the energy you turn into a literal stone statue, this hapened to candidates in the past. It's only by harnessing the energy and not turning into a statue that you master it and attain Sage Mode. Nature Chakra is petrifying by its very "nature", we see this in action when Pain tries to absorb it from Naruto and one of his puppet bodies start turning into stone.

So yeah to even become a Sage you must learn to filter that effect out of your system.

But that still isn't the same as being exposed to an attack meant to petrify.

Nature energy is unique to chakra and sages being able to properly harness that means they can avoid the risky side effect and only get the power increase. But Nature energy itself is not meant to petrify so they aren't showing any actual resistance.

It'd be different if one of them began turning to stone but reversed it, but that's never happened.

so its not about doing something the proper way and avoiding the side effects? like not deceiving galand the truth and not getting petrified ?

Naruto didn't outright resist petrification. Petrification was a side effect of not balancing nature energy in his own body right. The fact that it was even a threat shows he has no resistance. Pretty sure that's why CS2 users body's get deformed.

That's different than a foreign energy actively petrifying his body.

They can't. The petrification was something that was caused by the excess of natural energy, or rather, the imbalance.

What Nardo/Jiraiya/Hashirama/Minato/Juugo/etc do isn't resist petrification, it is balancing the natural energy to not get petrified, and getting petrified falls under transmutation or matter manipulation(Or both), so, in order for someone to be able to resist being petrified they got to be able to resist either matter manipulation or transmutation.

God, I hear the stupidest arguments. Still, I think Hashirama wins here.
