Kingdom Hearts

    Is it a MUST to have played Kingdom Hearts 1 before playing Kingdom Hearts 2? Or are the storylines unconnected?

    It would probably be a good idea to play the first one. Think about it; in a series of books, would you read the second book before the first book?

    Definitely consider playing the first game first before you start playing the second one. I don't think you'll really understand the story or why things are the way they are in the second game if you don't. :/

    .... or you can pick up the Kingdom Hearts manga series which I think tells the story of KH1 in manga format. Theres downloads somewhere or you can get the Tokyopop version of it which is sold for a pretty cheap price.

    I would get Kingdom Hearts anyway - It's a fantastic game.

    yeah, it is a great game, shame there is such a gap between the two games.

    Isn't that filled by Chain of Memories? I haven't had a chance to play it yet, so I'm just guessing.

    It is filled by CoM, but it's not that important to play CoM, as... (not really a big spoiler, since I won't reveal anything)

    Spoiler:
    in the end of CoM Sora&co decide to forget everything that happened in Castle Oblivion
    .

    I didn't like CoM myself but played regardless because I found the plot to be very good. If you don't feel like playing at least read some script of the game (gamefaqs.com has it) and you'll be alright.

    Depends. In The Chronicles of Narnia, most people skipped the first book, The Magician's Nephew, because it had almost nothing to do with the other books.

    Anyway, I suggest you play KH1 before getting KH2. Not only for the story, but also to get you used to the battle system.
