Beyond fucking brilliant! I loved Panos Cosmatos' first film, Beyond the Black Rainbow, and this has basically all the qualities of that, and a shitload more. Style over substance I would say, but the film both looks and sounds beautiful, Nicolas Cage gives a performance for the fucking ages (by far his best performance) and the atmosphere and the action are top notch.

2018 just keeps on giving, and this is FOTY in my eyes. Best performance AND film for Nicolas Cage btw. Dear God, a complete and utter masterpiece.

Panos Cosmatos has hit two homeruns in two tries. Clearly the most exciting new director out there atm and one to keep an eye on.

Literally said everything I thought. The film is porn for people who live for thought-provoking works of art. Visually stunning, the audio score is something so serenely charged. Every moment is precious. Not one wasted or useless scene.

Nick Cage is most definitely a gem we don't appreciate nearly enough.

Saw it like 3 days ago.

Took me about 3 attempts to get through this. The movie's pacing is very slow especially the first half. Felt like hotline miami + hell raiser + kill bill sorta, but not in a good way.

I didn't like how easily he was able to kill the hell raiser bikers. I don't know I mean I guess the scenes were shot well and trippy but I didn't like this film at all.... Only 1 fight I enjoyed and that was the chain saw battle. The final kill felt sorta sexual and made it disturbing for me. Main villain was a pansy and annoying.

Did you go in assuming it was going to be some Michael Bay action flick where the energy is always 11?

I mean I can kinda understand about the bikergang but did red truly have to suffer the entire movie for you to believe/enjoy it? It was a slow burn revenge trip. Same creator made beyond the black rainbow. Alot of netflix top shelf had stolen or borrowed from that movie heavily which is also slow burn. Prob not your thing tho.

Watched it ten times now, and probably will watch it ten more times before the end of the year. This shit is just class. Holy cow!

I recommend this. The entire video is just pure gold with Nicolas Cage breaking down his most iconic roles, but the last part about Mandy is very interesting. But do yourself a favor and just watch the entire thing.
