Id go for an Intel Core 2 Duo if I were you. You get a lot more for your money.

Yeah, i was thinking about the core 2 duo, but they are extremely overpriced here. And i like AMD, dunno why.
Btw,... is the 7600GT DX10 compatible?

    the C2D E6420 is ok 4MB cache 2.13GHz

buy an nVidia 8 series card for dx10

also what do you want the computer for?

if you get lets say an 8800gts or higher you would be better off with a bigger PSU maybe a 550W-600W from a good make like OCZ.

if you want what other people have to say about hardware it'd be helpful to check out for reviews thats where i get my info...and from Nagasarete_Airantou_-_08_[XVID][Ayako] its good to go there and ask about stuff

    ps consider the ram more

Like is said... i would LOVE to buy myself a core 2 duo, or a 8800gts, or even ocz modules, but i don't have the cash! R6000 ($845) is my budget.

I want the pc primarily for gaming. But i don't care if i can't play all my games on Ultra-High settings. i just wanna play 'em you know? :)

lol nope, you would get like a constant 30 fps or lower since my 7900 can barely even run this game on high

depending on what mobo your current computer has, you might be able to upgrade to a Core 2 Duo for cheaper...are Core 2 Duos that expensive in South Africa?

Yeah the cheapest core2duo is about R1900 ($267).
But when it comes to gaming... i prefer AMD. It's never let me down before.. :)

I could tell ya, but then I'd have to.....

Dailytech.com is where I get most of my info but there are various site around the internet that report this stuff. July 22nd there will be a major price cut on Intel's Quad Core processors...and soon Intel will be bringing out new Core 2 Duo processors priced less than the current ones. The Intel Core 2 Duo E6650(better than the E6600) will be about $183...these will probably be coming out by October.

I dunno suppose your current videocard is AGP...if it was PCI express I would say just upgrade your current PC as the one you configured isn't a huge step up except graphics wise. You may just want to save up some more money and shoot for a $1200 price range sorry don't know the conversion to South African currency.

    $1 = about R7

I think it will be quite a big boost.... yeah i am using AGP at the moment :(
And i have a socket 478 motherboard...... (feel my pain....)

So upgrading from that to the new one will certainly cause a difference in performance!
