Oh my, I hope everyone will be okay.
One death reported so far, multiple injuries.
I had a eerie feeling there would be atleast one death.
Eighteen year old apparently, born in 2000.
With a hurricane coming, it’s going to be a costly week for the USA.
Trump is probably gonna hide worse than Bush did during Katrina. One disaster is bad enough, two in a row under his watch...?
Technically it’s a major tropical storm. But neither are his fault.
His response will be his fault though.
Yes. And one is his voter base as well.
Hope for the best
Pipelines can be damaged during construction
Backhoe/heavy machine scratch the pipe and chipping it
or some other utility on its way.
flaws during welding
or they can be old, ill maintained and
usually buried/submerged/humid pipeline have to deal with SRB (bacteria that discharge sulfate) and those "S" eat the steel.
Ill maintained : lack of Corrosion control.
have structural flaws
Flaws during welding, and design flaws (too much pressure, or wrong shape, wrong flange rating), flaws in welding, etc
Condolences to the family of the deceased
Don't you mean "deceased"?
Apparently the gas company, Columbia Gas, cut corners on how much pressure the pipes could take to save money.
Seriously? That is stupid.
Looked like it was part of the way they were gonna bypass the Natural Gas laws that were put in 2014 while still making a profit.
