He needs to stay away from politics. He cannot deliver a coherent left wing message no matter how hard he is trying.
Just do straight action or some art house weirdness.
Well I guess Robocop is about to get all dusty.
I'm actually one of the only people on the planet who wasn't really all that impressed with "District 9"...yet ended up really liking "Elysium"?
Either way, I think he's an interesting choice for this project. Even though I think "District 9" was overrated, I won't deny that it was unorthodox and he accomplished a lot with limited resources. He's not really a safe choice, but he's also not out of his element either. I just hope he doesn't rely too much on nostalgia and I REALLY hope the studio doesn't hassle him. José Padilha was also an interesting choice, but his 2014 "Robocop" movie was so bland I...seriously can't remember a damn thing that happened in it...I think Samuel Jackson was there? Anyway, it was common knowledge that Padilha had difficulties with the studio, so hopefully that doesn't happen again.
Likewise I also liked Elysium.
