This link contains the news article and video. What do you guys think? It certainly is the most convincing video I've seen to date. The Scottish accent of the newscaster also kicks all kinds of ass.

The odd thing is that there's no obvious wake on the surface of the water. It doesn't look like a shadow either. The scientists who viewed the video didn't mention this, which is strange to me. The locomotion it employs must be gentle to cause such an effect.

Well, that scientist certainly does match the god stereotype. He just needs a more muscular body and a lightning bolt in his hand. :laugh

And the possibilities of this being a very small submarine, deliberately placed there to be filmed are impossible, per chance?

Its not illegal to swim in the loch, and I don't think there's any security.

Still, the old man with the beard rocks! smile-big

I'm pretty sure there has been attempts to get a manned mini-submersible into the Loch before. It wouldn't make any sense if they didn't attempt try it just once. Maybe they're afraid it won't find anything?

the thing is even if you do ahve your own sub you would ahve to fill out paper work...i mean the animal belongs to the country even if you do find it, it is consider an endangered animal? so all youd basically will get for capturing the animal is glory and a waste of money...

Hmmm... it's gotten to a point in Inverness that a lot of practical jokers are jumping on the bandwagon and doing some fairly elaborate hoaxes. If it's not something as simple as a duck, or a big fish, it'll be some guy in a sub.

*does not fall for cheap Scottish tourism tricks*

Well, assuming Nessie does exist, I'd put my money on it being a large invertebrate or a big eel. The chances of it being somekind of prehistoric monster is about zero. You have to admit that it would be cool if it turned out to be an unidentified species.

There already have been attempts with subs. Anyway's here's some facts I just found on the lock.

Loch Ness is the largest of three lochs located in the Great Glen which divides the North of Scotland along a line from Fort William to Inverness. The loch is large by British standards, being 23 miles long and a mile in width, and averaging 600ft in depth. Its catchment is hilly and wet, and is drained by 6 major rivers which flow into the loch. It contains over 2 cubic miles of fresh water, and the River Ness outlet, although only 5 miles long, is one of the greatest in Britain for average flow.
