So I've just now watched a few videos up on YouTube from both BLACKPINK and BTS [questioning my sexuality with those... Fine... Elegant... Se- AHEM. Respectable male singers] and I gotta say I regret not doing so earlier. K-Pop seems amazing, and I was curious to see what NF had to say about bands like BTS and BLACKPINK.

Welcome to the fandom. I joined in 2005 and I have been regretting it maybe 2 times, but other than that it was a solid and happy ride. I am still very much listening to kpop as you might have guessed by my avatar.

I'm not exactly trying to become super into K-Pop, I just enjoy the songs.

For example: I would, by no means, be willing to see a live show of any K-Pop band, regardless if it was in the U.S. or not [and I don't see why they would].

I can already tell the YouTube side of the fandom is pretty cancerous, as the entire comment section consists of -

    "Army!"
    "Stream [name of song]!
    "Let's get [blank] views!"
    "Fuck BLACKPINK!"
    "Fuck BTS!"
    "I wanna fuck BLACKPINK!"
    "I wanna fuck BTS!"

The 'K' stands for Korean. So basically just pop music, but they all sing in Korean.
And yes, we are talking about South-Korea.

The fanclubs/fandoms can be poisonous sometimes, so I just recommend to choose a few friends who have the same bias groups as you, so you can fanboy/fangirl/fanoctopus together.

People either hate or love k-pop and there is no in-between if you ask me.

    Thanks for the answer.

Didn't know rhis honestly. I barely listen to any songs that are not in English. Some Spanish and Japanese I do like. Will check to see what's rhis about.

    Welcome.

Some kpop artists also sing in Japanese, so if that would be a better transition for you.. then go for it.
I also started off with BoA in Japanese, only to find out later on that she is Korean and sings in Korean too.
