    Here are intersting excerpts of what I found out about taichi and taoism that can be linked to Neji. Everything comes from wikipedia.
    Like the best techniques that are exclusively taught within the main branch of the Hyuuga clan.

    As a side note, the Chinese word for "turtle" is "gui".:)

    This is interesting. :) I always thought that Neji simply referred to "Screw", which might be a play off of Neji's spinning Kaiten.

    Weirdly enough, I found the Chinese version of Neji's name somewhere, and it's 宁次, which means, um... as far as I know, it doesn't mean anything at all. T_T Maybe some weird attempt at phonetic copying (ningci, or ningtsi, um... right).

    Still, the Branch house Main house thing... But Neji is a branch house member who taught himself Main house techniques. Any particular way to interpret all this? :S

    I ran 宁次 with babel fish and got the meaning.....
    Spoiler:
    Rather inferior!! :amazed

    Though i am pretty sure that 宁次 does not have a specific meaning anyway. :oh

    It is not surprising to me. I had thought about it when I first saw this post.

    宁=more willing, rather
    次=second, inferior

    It means if Neji can choose, he will rather be a weaker person like Hinata than a genius. At least he won't have to face so much pressure in order to live up to others' expectation if he is not the strongest one in his clan.

    As other Chinese reading people have pointed out: to a Chinese, 宁次 has no specific meaning. =\ 次 means order/times in general: 一次 means once for example. It does not specifically mean inferior.

    I guess they were trying to play on phonetics more or less and somehow went with ne -> ning and ji -> ci. I guess it's better than the possible Neiji, which could have resulted, among others, as "inner chicken" (though the chicken would have been a litteral one). Ah-heh. :sweatdrop

    Out of the chinese names I remember form the chinese anime, there are several methods of translator the name. One of them is using the literal phonetics, eg. Uchiha Yuzhibo, using the Kanji, eg. Orochimaru Dashewan 大蛇丸, taking the meanings of the name, eg. Shikamaru 鹿丸 Luwan, Shika-鹿-Deer, Maru-丸-Circle, and finally seemingly random names eg. Neji.

    It's the Main House's fault! Everything is their fault! Neji (or should I say Inner Chicken) would have had That much more to be angry about. :amuse Then we'd get loads of fanarts of Neji in a chicken outfit, while others would debate on whether the "chicken" actually refers to the proud rooster attitude. :D

    Rofl. Neji's babbling about the Main House and Branche House can likewise be likened to the crowing of the rooster, among other things.

    Or you could say that Sakura has Inner Sakura, and Neji has Inner Chicken! :omg Or rooster. Whatever. Imagine a chicken or a rooster constantly babbling in his head, it'd certainly make Me grumpy. :huh

    Then people can start jinchuuriki theories. X'D

    Oy, this has gone off-topic, sorry. ^^;

    Also refered to as sticky hands. Basically it allows you to instantly react to your opponents movements because you are in physical contact. It also tells you what direction your opponent is applying his/her force to so that their power can be used against them. It's also one of the ways to blind fight.

    Give me another 5 years and I might be pretty proficient in sticky hands *makes nice-guy pose*

    I have to say that this is all pretty interesting....

    ROFL @ Meh....Chicken in his head.....*Thinks of fanfics/pics of Neji chicken* I guess fangirls would eat that up...Then he could have some kind of weird yaoi encounter with Lee in which......Let me stop right there...That's going to make me sick.

    Anyways. Back on topic. I've always thought Taichi looked very similar to Jyuuken...I watch Avatar alot (I know I'm a loser) and everytime I see waterbending I think of Neji...Don't know why, I just do.

    Yeah I read about that one somewhere before (about the referal to the word screw). This one sounds really plausable as well. Interesting indeed.

    I don't find sticky hands that difficult to do. Then again, I learned as a game when I was a kid. But it's rather easy to picky up. but if you try it against people who are really skilled... it's really interesting.

    What really is a bitch to do is that two handed "my-turn your-turn" thing while doing sticky hands. It gets me every time.

    Babble fish isn't most reliable, but that would be an interesting meaning for Neji's name. Personally, I don't really care what their names mean, as long as it sounds ok.
