I'm of two minds. This is the type of dumb movie I typically enjoy. But I'm actually starting to feel sorry for the Nazis.

Here we go again. Another movie needs a villain and the Nazis are served up on a silver platter. What are they doing this time? Experiments.

    *Sigh* Shocking...

On another note, so far this movie has a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I'm sure it will drop as the release date grows near, but it's a good start.

Take it to the cafe or whatever part of NF cares, because I'm not getting into this with you anymore, as your opinions are prone to killing or maiming threads...and you will NOT ruin the one about mutated, zombie, nazi, monsters.

Lol Overlord Anime Adaptation don't know why you get hyped for that...Japan doesnt have the budget to do live action right.

And Overlord lol that CGI would not be cheap. Too Many Major Monster Characters.

    Okay, last time.

Rukia joked that he was beginning to feel sorry for the Nazi's. Amol, whether joking or not, said 'There is something wrong with you if you feel sorry for the Nazi's". You then chimed in something like "But Nazi's are people too." It's a typical kind of post from you. Somewhat political, designed to provoke. I didn't even outright respond to you, so you're just trying to start shit.

But feel free to respond to try and prologue this, because I won't respond back this time.

The thread should be dominated by joyful things, such as how a mutant zombie nazi movie is getting great ratings so far at Rotten Tomatoes, not your baiting.

    Overlord: B.

I liked it. Did a good job telling its story. Very focused. I like that the zombie/experimentation took a while to unfold.

Good characters. Good setting. I approve.

But for the love of god no more Nazis! Time to pick new villains Hollywood!

    Here is my review.

"Overlord (2018)" was good, although I kind of feel like the marketing department presented the movie as a much different kind of experience. The majority of the screen-time plays out like a terse war-thriller, where characters are constantly finding themselves in uncomfortable and nerve wracking situations...The 2nd half starts gradually introducing horror elements until the finale fully embraces the genre, but most of the selling points in the trailer are taken from the 2nd half. I don't really know if there was a better way to promote this though, as even though the 'Nazi zombies' are presented as a 'twist' in the actual film, I think it would've alienated a lot of viewers had "Overlord" been marketed as a war thriller.

Either way, I had fun. The suspense got to me, even if some of the jump scares were too obvious for my tastes. There are some creepy moments and cool action scenes. There are definitely some really good, thrilling moments, whether "Overlord" is functioning as a behind-enemy-lines war thriller or a zombie-mutant horror flick. The shift in genres progresses naturally and the pacing never slows down or burns itself out. I am happy to have supported it in theaters.

7/10 or a 3/4 or a B, depending on your preferred rating system.

A movie to see once and then forget. Its a kinda strange genre mix. Not really bad, but not really good at any point.
