    Pokémon Sword & Shield

An image from the upcoming issue of Famitsu has been released. This image showcases some artwork for Galarian Ponyta and confirms that it is Pokémon Shield exclusive. It has an ability called Pastel Veil which appears to prevent itself and allies from being Poisoned and heals Ally Pokémon of Poison when they switch in. At present we can't get full details due to clarity of the picture We're currently checking for more details so be sure to keep checking back

So it really is a Galarian Ponyta, huh? A bit disappointed really. Was hoping it would be a new Pokemon. That said, I'm curious to see Galarian Rapidash now.

A change brought about by the life energy of the forests
Galarian Ponyta have been found in a certain forest of the Galar region since ancient times. It is said that they were exposed to the overflowing life energy of the forest over many generations, and this is why their appearance became unique in this region.

    Behold its glistening mane
Galarian Ponyta can absorb the life energy of the surrounding atmosphere and store it in its mane. It seems that Ponyta’s mane will become more colorful, and even emit a sparkling glow, if there is a lot of energy around.

Galarian Ponyta has the Ability Pastel Veil
Galarian Ponyta’s Ability, Pastel Veil, is a new Ability introduced in these titles. This Ability prevents the Pokémon and its allies from becoming poisoned! It can even cure the poisoned status condition of its allies when this Pokémon enters the battlefield!

I prefer they keep the evos a secret for the most part. The less details on that front the better.

What's with all the Pokemon being disgustingly adorable this generation? :catsupine

I'm gonna watch a full walkthrough of the game on youtube when it's released before deciding what I'm gonna do. The negatives for the games definitely outweigh the positives for me right now tho.

I was hesitant, but then there was a sparkly rainbow unicorn.

There's also the fact that there isn't much else interesting on the Switch right now. I haven't played a game on my Switch in ages. Luigi's Mansion 3 looks good, but Pokemon kind of wins out for me because it's a series I'm invested in.

At this point I'm not certain I'll be able to have either, though. Money issues.

The fact that all the pokes won't be available in the games (Which especially stings since you are paying more for these games than previous games which allowed you access to all pokes.), the fact that mega evolution and z moves no longer exist in these games, the fact that the new villains look and act terrible, just to name a few.

I'm super glad about Z moves at the very least, I always hated them

Mega evolution is a shame, I liked mega lopunny. The dynamax thing might make up for it though

Not sure about national dex, I don't really play pokemon too much after I've completed the main game and that's really the only time when the national dex gets opened anyway. So long as they keep glaceon and ninetails in I'm cool.

I'm pretty disappointed with how lazy GameFreak is. Mega evolution is more creative than a scaled up version of pokemon.
