I see all these people saying pokemons a good game but i have never played it since i was really young because it seems so childish but then again it is just the same as all other rpg's just stupid dub shit ruins everything so i was wondering which is the best one overall for graphics, gameplay, story, and everything put together.

Leaf Green was the best I thought. Yellow had a much advanced graphics from say Red and Blue in which the Pokemon didn't even look like Pokemon a lot of times. Crystal was decent too.

I reckon Crystal was the best out of the lot, but you'd probably like Emerald more.

The same difference between the original Red and Blue, or Gold/Silver, or Ruby/Sapphire. The differences is basically that certain pokemon are only found in one version.

The storyline are exactly the same. Only games like Yellow, Crystral, and Emerald will follow a different storyline because their the 3rd version of their respective generation.

That's in the eye of the beholder, but I'd probably say it's because of a more interesting storyline + improved animation over it's predecessors.

Haven't played Diamond and Pearl yet, and I don't want to get spoiled by playing the Japanese verision, so I'll just hold off until next year.

*still hasn't finished purifying Lugia from Pokemon XD for Gamecube O_O*

Pokemon Colosseum and XD are great console games to get if you want to catch certain pokemon that are hard to come by i.e. Cyndaquil, Totodile, Chikorita, Ho-oh, Lugia, etc..., plus, the first colosseum game gave you a bonus disk that had Jirachi, so I have quite a few Jirachi's in my pokemon Box.

    Games I have:

    Gameboy/Advanced

    Blue
    Red
    Yellow
    Gold
    Silver
    Ruby
    Sapphire
    Emerald
    Fire Red
    Leaf Green

    Gamecube

    Colosseum
    Pokemon XD
Pokemon Box (storage disc)--*hugs his surfing Pichu*

    N64
    Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2

Crystal: Better graphics than Silver/Gold; animations; more available Pokemon than any games before it.

Why I prefer GSC over the others: Two nations to go through; not so many 'cutesy' pokemon designs as in RSE; Team Rocket.

No, Leaf green and fire red are essentially the same. Both games have "version exclusive" pokemon. Some pokemon are only found in leaf green and the same thing applies to Fire red. It's basically the same rule of thumbs for all the pokemon games.

    And GSC did rock.

You had access to two regions and 16 gym battles, as well as a final showdown with Red (or at least who I believed to be him in that cave):spaz

Not to mention your rival is a cool looking thief, with awesome theme music. Yeah, I just replayed pokemon silver a few weeks ago :sag

Oh, not to mention the cloning trick. That's how I got both Umbreon and Espeon with out breeding once.

Yeah, it was Red in the cave and a very challenging battle it was, he had some good pokemon.

so are the starting pokemon for fire, leaf and crystal still bulb, squirt and char? I looked up the dif pokemon in each and the only really cool pokemon in red and not green would have to be arcanine or w.e..

Yeah, what I liked about the gamecube games were the fact that there was communication between the GBA games and the console games (in terms of trading and battling your GBA Pokemon on the big screen), plus Pokemon Box allowed me to store up to 1500 pokemon, which helped out big time, since I'm a very busy breeder.

The starting in Crystal is Cyndaquil, Totodile, Chikorita to answer that dude's Q. And in Leaf Green I'm almost certain it was Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander.

Oh, getting back to Red, I found him easy. For some reason.

    Yellow: Pikachu

    Gold/Silver/Crystal: Cyndaquil, Chikorita, Totodile

    Heracross > Pinsir

Pinsir used to have the edge with Swords Dance, but not anymore!

Megahorn + Triple SD + STAB = Death to all.

Heracross levels up quickly though and can dish a shitload of nice damage. Pinsir I always though levelled up just as quick, did as much damage, but the one major difference between the 2 was the moves in general they learned. The slight edge goes to Heracross but having both isn't bad either.

    #127/#167 - Pinsir
    Type: Bug
    Ability: Hyper Cutter[Prevents attack lowering]
    Base Stats: HP: 65
    Att: 125
    Def: 100
    Spd: 85
    Sp Att: 55
    Sp Def: 70

    #214/#168 - Heracross
    Type: Bug/Fighting
Ability: Swarm[Ups Bug moves in a pinch]
    Guts[Increases attack when suffering]
    Base Stats: HP: 80
    Att: 125
    Def: 75
    Spd: 85
    Sp Att: 40
    Sp Def: 95

Up to personal preference, I suppose. But since I teach my Heracross Brick Break AND Megahorn, the double STAB gets my preference.

Yeah, personal preference for sure. But some of the stats are pretty close. Add up all the stats and I bet ya they aren't seperated by more then 10-15.
