Quick Question

    I was just wonderin', how come in most subs, the word "kuso" is almost never translated as "shit"? Hell, it's never translated as "crap" either. Why is that?

    beacause in the context you use it in, its usually "shit"

    even in english, people dont say crap (minus few people) they say shit
    shit has a more ring to it i suppose that gets the emphasis across

    But it's rarely translated as "shit", that's what I'm trying to say. It's almost always translated as, "damn." I've noticed it translated more often as "shit" in scanlations, but in fansubs, it's 98.976858% of the time, "damn" or "dammit." I just want to know why fansubbers choose to translate it that way, while scanlaters, not as much.

    well maybe some translators dont wat to offend people
    i do it sometimes
    but kuso may litterally mean shit, but it can also mean the words you said, like damn/damnit etc
    i just see which fits the context better and use it

    for instace, your name, kusogitsune
    i read it as damn fox
