So now that we have the biggest reveal in the series, how does the foreshadowing in NnT hold up? Is it Fairy Tail, Bleach, Naruto tier? Tobi is Obito. Or does it weave around the story complexly like in HunterxHunter? Does everything make sense, is everything plannet to a T, is it even impressive?

Mediocre means "average that could have been better." Didn't live up to its potential.

    Great, imo.

A lot of stuff comes with great twists that were in one way or another foreshadowed long before the actual event happened or it was construed in ways that appeared immediately obvious only to turn out to be something entirely different (ex.: Rou was not Ban's predecessor but he happened to be incarnated in Oslo).

Rarely anyone is able to savely call 100% of a twist at least not until we are reaching the more immediate chapters of the reveal where things narrow down to what is most likely or obvious. A great example of this was Dreyfus and Hendy being the first opponents in the major first arc only for it to turn out that Hendy was seemingly the bad guy and Dreyfus the good but very lawful and strict military leader. Ultimately it was the other way round and even that changed the perception of the reader base by the point Fraudrin showed some actual heart and how he was cable of loving Griamor like a father and having his own ideals and honor code to follow despite being earlier portrayed as a ruthless and brutal demon.

In detail, Taizai is full of stuff like this, which is why I have to rate it as "great" in foreshadowing potential.

:leoYou are are right. These things actually flow so naturally in the story that they are hard to notice and are better handled than the likes of raizou dono was here which seems to be hailed to moon and back these days.

Great for me too. Nakaba is very good at laying hints around, and it's up to us to pick up on them. The hints about this particular reveal could go as far as Eli's dream, some 100 something chapters ago.

Perhaps not everyone is willing to go the extra mile to pick up said hints, which might explain why they might not find it as mind blowing, but it's nice to see something that's been foreshadowed for so long become reality. It's also very rewarding for people who do analyze the chapters every week up to the smallest details.

Yeah, best part about that is that it wasn't even a random dream. It was directly triggered by Gowther himself by using black-out, which knocked Elizabeth out. Since it was the doll's magic borrowed for the spell by Old Gowther, him using his magic to accidently affect Elizabeth, caused this entire chain of events in the first place. The guy who was responsible for the mindfuck unravelled it way back then. Only no one knew. Not even Gowther himself knew.

Yeah makes you wonder just how much fate has helped in this, or luck if you prefer. Other hints could be in the Baizel festival itself when Gloxinia makes the comparison between Escanor and Estarossa's magics.

In hindsight it was pretty ironic and it was in our faces all along. :hestonpls

Yeah. So much that many didn't want to believe it. That said, it's not like everything about that is even solved just yet.

Dreyfus-Fraudarin one was great. When author managed to left the foreshadowing unnoticed for literally all readers and then reveal it, and you start to look at all the shit and then you are orgasming.

Mael-Estarossa wasn't. When you expected the reveal to happen, there is noting great in confirmation of pretty simple and obvious theory.

More over it was more likely the twist for the sake of twist and Nakaba introduced it just cause he has nothing better to offer but there should be something to be excited about. So far I'm not seeing how Mael-Estarossa twist change the plot. Delete it and nothing would have changed. It also left zero emotional impact at least for me. Id actually prefer Estarossa to just be, well, Estarossa.

p.s. No one is able to trump Kishimoto. He successfully did "Dreyfus-Fraudarin" level revelations many times.

Good to great IMO. He has infinitely more hits than misses in this department. So when he actually does miss, it actually shows off more because he doesn't usually do it.

Whether we are talking about Elizabeth casually mentioning she had been adopted and her father fell out of a tree in chapter 2, Meliodas being handsy with her from chapter 1, Liz being brought up in chapter 10, the entire concept of the new holy war currently going on meliodas being 3000 years old and elizabeth's perpetual reincarnation being mentioned in chapter 50...Diane putting her name as matrona in the fighting festival, Ban's entire backstory relating to elaine tying in with king's later backstory and showing the red demon for the first time which also directly ties in with hendrickson's faction gaining the ability to create all the monsters and dark magic...just great.

Kishimoto has no foreshadowing. he winged it and you could tell. Most of it was garbage asspull tier(kaguya, sakura's asspull power up at the end, all the sharingan nonsense,)outside of MAYBE itachi and even that just made the series worse with Sasuke's reaction to it.

His writing just got worse and worse the more it went on.

Estarossa and Mael was foreshadowed from the very first time Estarossa was shown as being different from his brothers, and implied as being "off". There's nothing out of place with it and most people who are not looking at these theories are still confused.

What other manga does foreshadowing anywhere near as good to say its average to good? nakaba manages to connect so many disparate parts together, that's something very unheard of in shounen most times

It's actually not that unheard of. The first arc of Promised Neverland had some strong foreshadowing to how things played out.

Naruto and Bleach also have foreshadowing the way everything ties together with Turn Back the Pendulum and Everything But the Rain is very well handled the problem is obviously that the series are are long as shit so couple of things in 700 chapters is not that impressive.

Fairy Tail has alot of foreshadowing across the series some decent ones but linear like Jellal and Zeref. the problem is that Mashima doesn't know what they mean until he does ends the arcs.

On the same level as Nakaba puts hints and clues(which is what foreshadowing is), i would say its not even comparable(although i've never read promised neverland to be fair) most of bleach and naruto are largely asspulls..i mean nobody is going to sit there and say "who said espada go from 1-10" is some kind of genius.

Back in Rave Master Mashima had some pretty good foreshadowing like Seig Hart, but with FT, i felt he dropped the ball in more than one way

    Great!

The “Dreyfus being possessed by Fraudrin” plot twist imo is still the best in the manga when it comes to how much foreshadowing nakaba put in.

Pretty much with @Keishin stated, I personally felt the foreshadowing was similar to those shounen, except those shounen were much longer then Nanatsu ever will be (not a bad thing). and all shounen has asspulls too, including Nanatsu.
If it helps you, I'd favor the foreshadowing more towards good than average, which is why I voted good.

I never once saw bleach or naruto pull off forshadowing smartly like i've seen Taizai do it consistently. It was always just random info that just was never revealed so you could not technically argue it was an asspull. At most it was one or twice. Maybe Minato? Maybe Aizen? But those quickly ran out their welcome, especially in Aizen's case
