is it because xbox 360 is a quadrilateral? and a quadrilateral angles add up to 360?
The 360 was named the 360, because the PS3 was coming out and they didn't want to sound inferior.
So instead of saying the Xbox 2, they made it 360.
Dawn is so smurt.
Thats around how much it'll cost you.
Early on when the Wii was the Revolution, Microsoft heard it.
Revolution = 360 degree turn
What Nintendo innovates, Sony and Microsoft steal.
Flame shield on
I work at a Gamestore.
Just relaying some knowledge.
And then sell it to us for double the price...if the Ps3 was numbered after price it would be "PSdrainig wallets every where"
Because its in the shape of a circle.
I dont know why but that picture really REALLY irritated me and made me sad
Well it's clearly a two-fold advertising method. 1) Its a big number, and big numbers sound better. I.E. The Super Vac-o-matic 3000. 2) It sounds sort of 3D and futuristic. It has that more advanced sound to it. You certainly wouldn't have Super Mario Brothers 2 on something called XBox 360.
I think it has something to do with 360 degrees, which makes up a circle, probably they try to convince costomers that the experience will be full on XD
They secretly made Xbox 2 - 359 but never released them. This is actually the 360th version.
The same reason they named Windows 2003 "Windows XP".
They are gay.
I think the reason they gave is they wanted you to be at the centre of the circle. Like with the media and life you are in the middle of all of it. I know that's the reason they gave at some point.
This and CMX's answer are the most likely.
what will happen to xbox 3? ..... = xbox 720?
I think cause it's a high number and sounds good.
Wii - Means everyone
PS3 - Third playstation
360 - Sounds good
